Here is part nine of my fan fiction for two of my favourite boy bands McFly and Busted in their super group McBusted where they continued their tour in the world of Pokémon at the Galar region from the Gen 8 games. The McBusted boys have arrived in the Galar region where they have learned about Dynamax. However, they have to join forces with Galar's champion Leon to avert The Darkest Day throughout Galar including at The Isle of Armour and The Crown Tundra. Enjoy and stay tuned for more.
Shedding light on The Darkest Day
Chapter 1: Wild Area of the time
Two boy bands McFly and Busted as their supergroup McBusted are continuing their tour around the Pokémon regions. This time, their next stop is at the Galar region where it’s well known for its stadiums where epic gym battles take place with Pokémon undergoing a giant transformation known as Dynamax.
As soon as the McBusted boys took a step into Wyndon, Tom said, “There’s something that feels familiar about the Galar region.” He looked around Wyndon’s buildings with wonder. “Yeah, it’s like we’re closer to home,” said James.
They were greeted by the Galar champion Leon, assistant professor Sonia and Chairman Rose. “I welcome you all to the Galar region!” said Leon, shaking their hands. "So excited to meet you all!" said Sonia. “I hope you all enjoy your time while visiting Galar” added Rose. “It’s nice to meet you both” said Charlie. As a welcome gift, Leon has given the boys Dynamax bands. “These Dynamax bands utilized Galar particles allowing your Pokémon to undergo Dynamax; a phenomenon that increases the Pokémon’s size, allowing them to perform powerful Max Moves" explained Sonia. "There’s even a few Pokémon that change their appearance upon Dynamaxing known as Gigantamax” added Leon.
The McBusted boys were fascinated to learn about Dynamax and Gigantamax. “Wow! Bet seeing those Pokémon Dynamaxed would leave a huge impression!” said Danny excitedly. “You have to come up with a huge pun didn’t you?” said Harry dryly.
As the Galar tour went underway, they caught and raised many new Pokémon, including Cinderace for Danny, Alcremie in its Rainbow Swirl form with Star Sweets for Tom, Corviknight for James, Inteleon for Charlie, Dragapult for Dougie, Toxricity in its Amp form for Matt, and Rillaboom for Harry.
“Together! You and I will score a goal for our battles!” said Danny as he high-fives his Cinderace. Raising the fire-type rabbit that resembled a soccer player reminded Danny about the days when he took part in Soccer Aid including one time he was the winger, passing the ball to his team-mate Alan Shearer which helped him to score a goal. “My Dragapult shall launch giant missiles upon Dynamaxing!” bragged Dougie. “I can’t wait to get the show on the road with my Toxtricity amped for battle!” said Matt who pretended to jam his bass that mirrors his punk lizard-like Pokémon clawing its organs on its chest. “Finally a Pokémon that can match my style! My Rillaboom shall drum up the competition!” bragged Harry as he and his Grassy Ape-like Pokémon Rillaboom bang their drums. “Great, as if we don’t have enough noise from you already” muttered Tom covering his ears.
During their free time, they visited the Wild Area as recommended by Leon who told them that it’s full of wild Pokémon. “Wow! What a huge, vast area!” said Danny with amazement. “Race ya for a catching spree!” said Harry competitively as they all rushed into the Wild Area.
Among the Pokémon they found was a Cramorant that had an Arrokuda in its mouth. “What a goofy Pokémon, I gotta catch it!” said Charlie, tossing his Pokeball at it, only for him to aim it towards its stomach which caused Cramorant to spit out the Arrokuda which flew towards Charlie’s chest, causing him to fall flat on his back. “Well you caught us a fish” said James dryly as Cramorant made a getaway.
Dougie was fishing and caught a huge bite. It was the evolved form of Arrokuda, Barraskewda. “Guys, I’ve caught something!” called Dougie. Barraskewda was rather tough as it pulled the reel hard. The others went over to help Dougie to reel Barraskewda in. Gallade and Gardevoir helped out too. “Ok everyone, pull hard now!” called Matt as they all used their might. Barraskewda was too strong and used its strength to pull in the lure, causing everyone to fall into the water. Barrskewda made its getaway. “Well, that was a splash” said Danny and they all laughed, seeing the funny side of it and splashed each other.
After they caught a few Pokémon, they decided to have a break and make some curry, mixing a couple of ingredients into the pot. As they feasted on the curry, Danny spilt some of his egg curry on his shirt. “Eggs, out of all the vegetables” said Danny. “Really? That again?” asked Tom. Once again, they all laughed. They all had a great time in the Wild Area that brought them closer even with a couple of mishaps.
The next day, the McBusted boys were visiting Postwick and spotted the sheep-like Pokémon Wooloo who had crashed into the gate, running towards a field that leads into the forest. It was owned by a young trainer named Hop who ran after it. “Hey! Sorry can you guys help to find my Wooloo? It got over-excited during training and ran off” said Hop. “Sure, we’ll help you find your Wooloo” said Danny reassuring him. “Leave it to us” said James and they followed the direction where Wooloo had run off.
As they were calling for Wooloo, a thick fog unexpectedly appeared. “Huh? Is Galar’s weather unpredictable just like for our country?” said Dougie who was surprised with the sudden change of weather. This has caused both bands to become separated. “Oh no, we lost them” said Charlie with concern. James and Matt stick closely with Charlie. “What should we do? I hope they’re ok” said Tom worriedly as Danny, Dougie and Harry kept themselves close to Tom. Harry had an idea who said rationally “Let’s leave it to Gallade”, promoting Gallade to use his psychic powers to navigate the fog. The Busted boys were thinking the same thing with Gardevoir. “Leave it to Gardevoir!” said Matt as she led the way.
Both bands have encountered a rusted relic. The one that the McFly boys have found looks like a sword while the one that the Busted boys have discovered resembled a shield. “I wonder what that sword statue meant to be?” asked Danny. They both also found some musical notes and lyrics written on the relics. “We better keep hold of them. They could come in handy” said James as both bands picked up the sword and shield relics.
Shortly after that, their Gallade and Gardevoir were able to reunite both bands and the fog cleared up. “Thank goodness you are all in one piece!” said Tom. “All thanks to our Pokémon!” said Charlie, hugging each other. They then spotted Hop’s Wooloo nearby. “Well that is sure lucky of us. Now we can get out of here” said Harry.
They led Wooloo to Hop who thanked them for their help and apologized for the trouble. “No problem, we’re happy to help anytime” said Matt. Hop then recognised who they were. “Wait, you all are from McFly and Busted; joined together as McBusted? My Brother Lee has been telling me about you all!” said Hop excitedly. “Well that’s a small world” said Dougie.
Later today, while the McBusted boys were preparing for their show in Wydon, Leon was discussing something with Rose. “According to the latest readings, I regret to inform you that Galar’s energy supply is rapidly running short. This is due to the large amount of Galar particles being used by our huge population overusing Dynamax so it’s imminent that Galar will be experiencing an energy crisis” said Rose. “This is worrying. We should gather the scientists and work together to find a solution” said Leon. “Why Leon, we are in luck as I have an absolute solution to avert our energy crisis; by using the Pokémon that caused The Darkest Day long ago in Galar; Eternatus. By awakening it, we can use its powers to provide us with an infinite supply of Galar energy” said Rose.
This has concerned Leon. “I’m all for helping with our energy crisis but you do know that this will cause another Darkest Day that’ll threaten Galar?!” he objected. But Rose remained delusional and said “As our top champion, I expected you to understand. This is the only way to solve our energy crisis. With time running short, I have to maintain our energy supply at any cost” said Rose who went towards the lab that contained Eternatus. Knowing that Rose was too fixated with his plan to be reasoned with, Leon rushed towards Wydon station to warn the McBusted boys, worried that they’d be caught up in danger that they were about to be dragged in.
During the McBusted concert, the power suddenly went off. As the McBusted boys and the crowd were looking around in awe, a large dragon-like Pokémon Eternatus flew over the stadium. “What on earth is that?!” exclaimed Dougie. Eternatus has released an unstable amount of Galar particles throughout the region, causing wild Pokémon to suddenly Dynamax, causing a rampage in their large size.
“This is like we’re in the middle of a Kanji movie!” cried Tom as they were witnessing the crisis. “Those giants are crashing our concert, just like how we crashed the wedding!” exclaimed James. The McBusted were covering together in horror. Leon arrived with his Charizard and said “I’m sorry but this is an urgent matter.” He explained about The Darkest Day and how Rose intended to use Eternatus to create another Darkest Day as a solution for their energy crisis. "I know your concert has to be put on hold but I really need all the help I can get to stop those Dynamax Pokémon from wreaking havoc” said Leon.
The McBusted boys agreed to help out. “You can count us in!” said Charlie. “Yeah, for all of our fans who come to see us and all those Pokémon!” said Danny.
Leon and his Charizard lead the McBusted boys to the sighting of Dynamax Pokémon. The first couple of Dynamax Pokémon they encountered were a Gigantamax Orbeetle, Falinks and Polteagiest. “Now that's what I call a UFO!” said Dougie as he witnessed the giant UFO-Ladybird Pokémon. “Aren’t there a bunch of them!” called Matt commenting on Falinks who looks like a group of small Spartan soldiers. “I don’t think I fancy a huge cup of tea right now” said Harry referring to the ghostly tea pot like Pokémon. Their jokes help to lighten up the tension.
Leon kept his composure and said “At the very least, you’ll get to see my Dynamax Pokémon in action!” said Leon who used his Dynamax band to Gigantamax his Charizard, matching the size of other Dynamax Pokémon while undergoing a more rugged transformation. “Now that is gigantic!” said Charlie with astonishment. “My partner has won many battles with its flames scorching hotter than magma like this!” said Leon as his Gigantamax Charizard fired its G-Max Wildfire towards the Dynamax Pokémon including G-Max Orbeetle firing its G-Max Gravitas. “I am certainly feeling the scorching heat” said Danny sweating as he was feeling the heat from the G-Max Wildfire.
Although Leon’s Charizard did a lot of damage, the Dynamax Pokémon weren’t down just yet with Dynamax Falinks and Dynamax Polteagiest unleashing their Max Knuckle and Max Phantasm towards the McBusted boy’s Pokémon. “Woah! Look out!” cried Tom. Gallade and Gardevoir quickly took action and protected them with their moves including Gallade slicing against the fists from the Max Knuckle using Psyblade which also hit Falinks and Gardevoir using Psychic on the moving objects and sent them right back towards Polteagiest. “Good thinking there!” called James as their Pokémon used this chance to fight back.
Gigantamax Orbeetle fired its Max Flutterby towards the McBusted boy’s Pokémon but Leon’s Gigantamax Charziard fired its Max Airstream towards the move with the rushing airstream cutting through the move to protect them as commanded by Leon. Max Airstream has also hit the three Dynamax Pokémon. “Thanks, no wonder you’re the champion” said Matt. “Just keeping you all safe while we get through this crisis” said Leon modestly. The Dynamax Pokémon were weakened enough to revert to their normal size.
Just then, Leon saw the news on his Rotom phone that there were sightings of Dynamax Pokémon in two areas of Galar; The Isle of Armour and The Crown Tundra. “I need to ask you all a favour. Could you split up and head to these two areas and stop those Dynamaxed Pokémon?” asked Leon. “But what about you Leon? Will you be alright on your own?” asked Danny with concern. “No worries, I’ll get some backup. Besides it’ll help to save Galar twice as fast” said Leon. “Sure, leave it to us!” said Harry.
Leon added to contact each other in case there’s any trouble. Meanwhile, Rose and his secretary Oleana have overheard them and planned to stop them. As soon as the McBusted headed to the two designated areas, Leon spotted Eternatus. He vows to capture it so that it won’t fall into the wrong hands.
Leon's Brother Hop has helped to back him up, Dynamaxing his Dubwool as evolved froom Wooloo. Although it fought its hardest, firing its Max Strike at the Dynamax Meowstics (both male and female), it wasn't able to withstand two Max Mindstorm, reverting it back to its normal size. Leon protected his brother with his Gigantamax Charizard shielding him and firing its Max Airstream at the Dynamax Meowstics. Although he was greateful for his help, Hop couldn't help but to feel that wasn't strong enough for him. Leon noticed his feelings and said to him reassuringly "Don't worry, you fought your best."
Chapter 2: Shine a light on the Isle of Armour
The McFly boys have chosen to go to Galar’s coastal island; Isle of Armour where there were many Pokémon that forcefully became Dynamax, causing them to go on a rampage as a cause of the sudden transformation. “We better stop them before there’s nothing left” said Tom. “I say let’s counter Dynamax with Dynamax!” said Dougie. The others followed his idea and activated their Dynamax band for their Pokémon. Danny, Tom and Harry were astonished that their Cinderace, Alcremie and Rillaboom were in their Gigantamax forms by chance. While the McFly boys used their Pokémon to fight, Gallade helped to escort any people or Pokémon to safety, using his psychic senses to forewarn him any incoming attacks.
“Alright, let’s bring them down!” said Danny with his Gigantamax Cinderace were up against a Dynamax Grapploct and Dynamax Dhelmise at the Challenge Beach. Danny told Cinderace to start the attack with its Max Knuckle which increased its Attack while changing into a Fighting type with its ability Libero. In response, The martial arts octopus slammed down its large tentacles that destroyed nearby trees while the anchor that was controlled by the spirits in the seaweed slammed its huge hock towards Gigantamax Cinderace. Both of these Dynamax Pokémon were trying to cause Dynamax Cinderace to fall off its giant fireball.
“Don’t let up Cinderace! Let’s score the goal with your G-Max Fireball!” called Danny and his Gigantamax Cinderace jumped off its huge fireball and kicked it towards the Dynamax Grapploct and Dhelmise. “Alright! It’s coming home!” cheered Danny. His Dynamax Cinderace cried out in triumphant too. Danny also added “It’s a good thing they’re not Water types."
Tom and his Gigantamax Alrcemie were fighting against a Gigantamax Hatterene and a Dynamax Sirfetch’d. Gigantamax Hatterene also known as the Forest Witch attacked with its G-Max Smite which made Gigantamax Alcremie dizzy with confusion. The knight duck took advantage by hitting Gigantamax Alcremie with its huge leek.
But Tom helped it out by calling “Don’t give it up! Show them what you’re made off with your G-Max Finale!” called Tom. His Gigantamax Alrcemie heard his call which helped to snap out from its confusion and fired its G-Max Finale towards the two giant Pokémon. It also helped to restore some of the damage it sustained. “See there? Now give them some desserts with your Max Flare!” said Tom and his Gigantamax Alrcemie finished them off with its Max Flare.
Dougie’s Dynamax Dragapult was fighting against a Dynamax Aegislash and a Dynamax Pincurchin. “How the heck I’m supposed to fight that thing?!” cried Dougie in frustration as Dynamax Aegislash in its Shield form used King’s Shield to block the attack. Dynamax Pincurchin took advantage by firing its Max Lighting towards Dynamax Dragapult with it hitting hard by the Electric Terrain as set by Pincurchin’s Electric Surge ability.
Dougie remained composed and thought of a plan. “Well we’ll have to deal with that Sea Urchin first! Go and unleash your Max Wyrmwind!” said Dougie with his Dynamax Dragapult firing its huge purple vortex towards Pincurchin, overpowering Max Lighting and dealing a lot of damage. Dynamax Aegislash then changed into its Blade form and was set to attack. “Ha! Your guard is down! Now unleash your Max Phantasm!” called Dougie and his Dynamax Dragapult unleashed the move which hit Aegislash with it being exposed to its attacks without using its shield.
Harry and Gigantamax Rillaboom were at Potbottom Desert where they were confronted by Gigantamax Sandaconda and Dynamax Flygon. “We mostly have the type advantage here so show them your performance!” said Harry as his Gigantamax Rillaboom activated its Grassy Surge ability which summoned a Grassy Terrain to increase the power its Grass type moves while it beat its drums, using G-Max Drum Solo, hitting the two giant Pokémon hard.
However, Gigantamax Sandaconda used its G-Max Sandblast, trapping Gigantamax Rillaboom in a sandstorm which caused damage while Dynamax Flygon fired its Max Wyrmwind which weakened Gigantamax Rillaboom. But Gigantamax Rillaboom still holds its ground with the Grassy Terrian restored its health. “See? They aren’t going to mess with us! Now teach them a lesson with your Max Darkness!” said Harry and Gigantamax Rillaboom unleashed its giant dark energy towards the huge sidewinder and ant lion.
After weakening the Dynamax Pokémon throughout the Isle of Armour, the McFly boys and their Gallade were up against Rose’s secretary Oleana. “I suggest you boys should stay out of our business for the sake of Galar!” said Oleana who Gigantamax her Garbodor. “Pu, looks like we’re up against some trash” said Dougie. “Set by the psycho girl, not like from one of Busted’s songs” added Harry. Oleana was angered by their insult. “How dare you! This was by my side ever since I came from a poor family! Garbodor, teach them a lesson with your G-Max Malodor!” yelled Oleana as the giant trash-heap Pokémon summoned poisonous oozing liquid towards their Pokémon.
Quickly, Danny commanded Gigantamax Cinderace to intercept the attack with its G-Max Fireball, hitting Gigantamax Garbodor. “You both need to shut your mouths” said Tom with annoyance as his Gigantamax Alrcemie helped out with its G-Max Finale. Oleana then ordered Gigantamax Garbodor to fire its Max Overgrowth but Dynamax Dragapult and Gigantamax Rillaboom used their Max Phantasm and Max Darkness to take out the giant seeds, giving Gallade a chance to strike with its Psyblade. After Garbodor reverted to its normal size upon defeat, Oleana relents and says “I guess it’s true that my boss has gone too far out of desperation. You must stop him.” “Don’t worry, I’ve just got a message from my friends that they’re fighting him at The Crown Tundra. I’m sure they can try to bring some sense in him” said Danny reassuring her. Oleana nodded in respect.
Chapter 3: Darkest Day turns into night on the Crown Tundra
Meanwhile, the Busted boys were at the snowy southern side of Galar known as The Crown Tundra. “We sure get the colder pick” said Charlie as they were shivering. But there was no time to be cold as they had to stop the Pokémon that were unsustainably Dynamaxed. “Let’s match their size shall we?” suggested James as they Dynamax their Pokémon. Again, they were surprised that their Dynamaxed Pokémon had their Gigantamax forms. While the Busted boys took part in the battles, their Gardevoir helped to protect the people and Pokémon with her barriers.
James and his Gigantamax Corviknight were up against a Dynamax Frosmoth and Dynamax Mr Rime, the latter Pokémon had set up Reflect to reduce damage which helped the former Pokémon to attack with Max Hailstorm. “Let’s give these screens a wipe shall we?” said James, commanding his Gigantamax Coviknight to blow away Reflect using G-Max Wind Rage while dealing damage.
That didn’t stop the two Dynamax Ice types to try and bury Gigantamax Corviknight by combining their Max Hailstorm. “Don’t let up now and use Max Knuckle!” said James as Gigantamax Corviknight repelled the giant hailstones with its giant fist projectiles, increasing its attack powers for Gigantamax Corviknight to deal extra damage by using Max Steelspike. “No hard feeling Charlie Chaplin” said James, referring to the fact that Mr Rime resembles him.
Charlie has found Gigantamax Grimmsnarl and Dynamax Cursola. He has witnessed Gigantamax Grimmsnarl putting Pokémon to sleep with its G-Max Snooze earlier but he has a plan for that. “Now secret agent Inteleon, shoot them down with your G-Max Hydrosnipe!” commanded Charlie and his Gigantamax Inteleon fired its harpoon made out of water towards the floating objects set by the giant ghostly bleached coral using Max Phantasm. This helped his giant aquatic secret agent lizard to hit Dynamax Cursola directly. “As much as I feel bad for you. We must do better to fight against climate change” said Charlie with some pity.
Just then, the giant troll-like Pokémon was about to fire its G-Max Snooze but Charlie was prepared for that and said “Inteleon, fire your Max Hailstorm quickly!” and Gigantamax Inteleon fired giant hailstones on Gigantamax Grimmsnarl, burying it before it can execute its attack that would have made his Gigantamax Inteleon drowsy. “Just like a secret agent!” said Charlie proudly.
Matt and his Gigantamax Toxtricity were confronted by Dynamax Obstagoon and Dynamax Aggron. Both of them were troublesome with the giant punk badger used Max Strike which slowed down Gigantamax Toxtricity and the giant metallic dinosaur withstood hits with its defensives which are further boosted by using Max Steelspike (while also being immune to Poison-type moves as part of the Steel type).
But Matt had a trick up his sleeve. “Let’s rock Toxtricity with your G-Max Stun Shock!” called Matt and his Gigantamax Toxtricity unleashed a bolt of electricity from its guitar which paralysed Dynamax Aggron and Poisoned Dynamax Obstagoon. “Alright! That’ll own them!” bragged Matt. However, Dynamax Obstagoon took advantage of being poisoned with its ability Guts which increased its attack power. “Quick! We can’t let them have our spotlight!” called Matt and his Gigantamax Toxtricity used Max Ooze to take out Dynamax Ostagoon. The move in turn raised his Gigantamax Toxtricity’s Special Attack to deal more damage to Dynamax Aggron.
After defeating the Dynamax Pokémon throughout the Crown Tundra, the Busted boys and Gardevoir were confronted by Rose who Gigantamax his Copperajah (but not before the Busted boys have contacted the McFly boys via their Rotom phone). “So you’re the one who interrupted our concert for this huh?” demanded Matt. “Why I am truly sorry for the inconvenience but surely you all must understand that Galar is dangerously running low on Galar particles so therefore, I do what I must” answered Rose. “But isn’t there any other way without resorting to extreme measures?” asked Charlie. “Time is running out so recreating the Darkest Day is the only way” said Rose with his Gigantamax Copperjah unleashing its metallic spikes using G-Max Steelsurge to prevent them from getting any closer.
“Well we’re still going to have to stop you from going to the deep end!” said James as his Gigantamax Corviknight blew away the spikes using G-Max Wind Rage. Rose then ordered Gigantamax Copperjah to fire its Max Flare. Gardevoir used Hyper Voice to repel the attack, allowing Gigantamax Inteleon and Gigantamax Toxtricity to take down the giant copper elephant with their G-Max Hydrosnipe and G-Max Stun Shock. As Rose withdraws his Copperjah, he says to them “Go ahead and stop it if you must but be warned that you’ll pay for the price for the future of Galar” before he goes away.
Just then, both bands received an urgent message from Leon who needed backup, telling them to meet up at The Tower Summit at Hammerlocke Stadium. With McFly and Busted rendezvousing at Hammerlocke, they all embraced each other having to be relieved that they were safe before quickly rushing towards The Tower Summit. Along the way, they meet up with Hop (as accompanied by Sonia) . “Please hurry. I don’t sure if Lee can last longer and I’ll only slow him down” said Hop who sounds somewhat down. “Don’t worry, we’re on our way” said Dougie.
Chapter 4: Harmonoy of the Sword and Shield
The McBusted arrived at the Tower Summit and found Leon who was up against Eternatus but in a much larger size with its whole body becoming serpentine yet it was surrounded in red aura so only its giant hand was showing which is actually it’s head. This was Eternatus in its Eternamax form. “What such abomination!” exclaimed Matt.
They then noticed Leon who appeared to be worn-out and distressed. His Chairzard who had Gigantamax earlier was matching his feelings even though it wasn’t down just yet. “Leon! Are you alright?!” said Danny as they all rushed over to him. “I’m fine but Eternatus...was too much even for me. Sorry, but I’m going to have to rely on you all. Eternatus needs to be caught at any cost!” said Leon. “Leave it to us! The bigger they are, the harder they fall!” said James with determination while his Charizard sat this one out for now.
The McBusted boy’s Pokémon all fought their hardest against Eternatus using their combined teamwork including Tom’s Alrcremie using Decorate on Danny’s Cinderace and Matt’s Toxtricity which powered them up as Cinderace used Hi Jump Kick (which again changed into a Fighting type with its Libreo ability) and Toxtricity firing its Overdrive (which was further boosted with its Punk Rock ability) to intercept Eternatus’ Max Flare.
This helped James’ Corviknight and Harry’s Rillaboom to charge in using their Brave Bird and Grassy Glide while Charlie’s Inteleon and Dougie’s Dragapult fired their Snipe Shot (which was a critical hit as powered up with Sniper) and Dragon Darts at a distance. Alcremie also backed them up by firing its Dazzling Gleam.
But Eternatus proved to be too strong for them with their Pokémon having to be already worn down from their previous battles (which was shown with their movements were less agile which made them prone to Eternatus’ attacks or Eternatus dodging their moves including Cinderace’s Pyro Ball and Dragapult’s Shadow Ball) and their Dynamax bands were already used up so they withdraw their Pokémon with only Gallade and Gardevoir remaining. “This doesn’t look good. I knew we should have stopped at a Pokémon centre first” said Tom worriedly. “I know but we were caught up with the action and worried about Leon at the time” said Charlie admittedly. “Well now what do we do?” asked Harry anxiously.
Just then, Dougie remembered something. “Didn’t we pick up those sword and shield relics from earlier? They had song lyrics didn’t they?” They got out the rusted sword and shield relics from their bags. Leon recognised them. “I think they’re the relics that belong to the legendary heroes of Galar; Zacian and Zamazenta as researched by a friend of mine! They could be the ones who could help us!” said Leon. “Maybe playing the songs written on them could help to summon them!” said Danny. “Well, what are we waiting for? Let’s do it!!” said James.
The McFly boys were playing the song written on the rusted sword known as Ballad of the Sword and The Busted boys were playing Melody of the Shield as written on the rusted shield while Leon’s Chairzard helped to distract Eternatus even though it was worn down although Gallade and Gardevoir helped to back it up.
Upon playing the two songs, two large dog-like legendary Pokémon Zacian and Zamazenta showed up, much to everyone’s surprise and amazement. “Wow! Our performance has summoned those two heroes!” exclaimed Harry. “Quick! Give them the rusted sword and shield you all have found!” called Leon. The McFly boys have given Zacian the rusted sword and the Busted boys gave Zamazenta the rusted shield, turning them into their warrior forms with a more majestic appearance. “Wow! To think that getting lost in that fog would have led us to these legendaries!” said Matt with astonishment and Zacian and Zamazenta were ready to give them a helping hand.
Eternatus fired a large laser beam towards them using Eternabeam but Zamazenta intercepted the move by charging its shield-like head using Behemoth Bash. Zacian followed up the attack by slashing its sword using Behemoth Blade. The McBusted boys were thrilled to witness their strength. “Wow! Watching Zacian fight is just like a sword smiting its opponent!” said Tom. “And Zamazenta is just like one big shield blocking the attack!” said Charlie.
Even though Zacian and Zamazenta were powerful enough to stand up to Eternatus, they both weren’t able to fight it along with Eternatus fighting back with powerful moves including Max Flare so the two legendary Pokémon bestowed a part of their power into the McBusted’s boys Dynamax bands, fully charging it. “Oh boy! We can Dynamax again! And I know who we can Dynamax!” cheered Danny with the McFly boys looking at Gallade. “You’re ready for this?” asked James as the Busted guys looked at Gardevoir.
Both Psychic types nodded at both bands. Shortly after that, the McFly and Busted boys returned Gallade and Gardevoir to their Pokeballs with both bands holding their respective Pokeballs together, charging up their Dynamax bands and tossing their Pokeballs together, Dynamaxing Gallade and Gardevoir. “And now our shining knight in armour is a giant knight in armour!” said Dougie who is hyped with the sight of Dynamax Gallade. “As with our bride-to-be!” said Charlie who is thrilled to have this chance to Dynamax Gardevoir. “Either way, our Dynamax Pokémon shall crush the competition!” boasted Harry.
Both Dynamaxed Pokémon have helped Zacian and Zamazenta to fight against Eternatus with Dynamax Gallade launching his Max Fists at Eternatus’ Max Rockfall, using the fist projectiles to break through the giant rock while also raising the Attack stat for his allies and Dynamax Gardevoir using Max Starfall to create a Misty Terrain to prevent any status effects. Both Dynamax Pokémon also used Max Mindstorm which hits Eternatus for super effective damage. Even when Dynamax, Gallade and Gardevoir helped each other out including with Gallade firing his Max Overgrow at Max Rockfall to protect Gardevoir and Gardevoir using Max Fists to block the Max Ooze that was about to hit Gallade. “Good for you both to fight side by side!” called Tom. “Just like how we work together as a team” said Matt with both bands gazing at each other admirably.
Just after Zacian and Zamazenta attacked Eternatus, the Gigantic Pokémon was about to fire its Eternabeam but Gallade and Gardevoir quickly intercepted the attack by firing their Max Mindstorm towards it. It created a giant blast as the moves collided, just as the Dynamax effect wore off for Gallade and Gardevoir. The McBusted boys rushed over to them as they were about to collapse with exhaustion but were no less proud to help out. This gives Zacian and Zamazenta a chance to strike Eternatus with their Behemoth Sword and Behemoth Bash once more.
“Now’s the time to capture it!” called Leon, tossing a spare Pokeball towards the McBusted boys (with Leon seeing McBusted as the ones worthy enough to capture it). The Pokeball turned into its giant size as the McBusted boys grabbed it. “And now, this will be like one big capture for us all!” said Harry. “As one big super group!” said Matt and together, they all tossed the weakened Eternatus which is like tossing a giant basketball. It captured Eternatus with the big Pokeball landing on the ground, shaking back and forth before it returned to its normal size, making the capture a success. “Alright! We did it!” cheered Danny. “We caught Eternatus while saving Galar!” celebrated James. They thanked Zarcian and Zamazenta for their help as they went away into the distance.
The McBusted boys were hailed as heroes for Galar as said by Leon “Galar is safe because of all of your efforts.” “If anything it’s those legendary heroes that you should be thanking. They should be remembered as heroes” said James. “You’re right, I’ll make sure that they’ll be remembered by history although you all were the ones who summoned them so you all should have some credit too” said Leon’s friend Sonia who is an assistant professor. This made the McBusted boys blush.
As for Rose, he handed himself over to the authorities. Leon added that he’ll be the one who’ll keep Eternatus safe (having to be handed over by the McBusted boys), hoping to find a way for Eternatus to co-exist while rehabilitating it.
Leon added that he along with his Brother Hop and Sonia will be joining with Galar’s scientists to find a long-term solution to maintain Galar particles but in a way that’ll benefit both people and Pokémon. “I may have been powerless back then but I hope I can use my position to bring communities together to work on finding solutions” said Leon. “It’s just like how I help with environmental issues so I get your ideas” said Dougie. “I wasn’t strong enough to help Lee but someday, I’ll become stronger” said Hop who was trying to remain cheerful but couldn’t help to feel down about himself. “Don’t worry about it. We all have our setbacks as musicians at times but the main thing to remember is to use your failures as lessons to learn for you to improve yourself. Also, we wouldn’t have found those rusted items if it weren’t for you” said Danny reassuring him. Hop smiled at Danny’s wisdom. “Thanks, I will get stronger for you all!” said Hop.
Afterwards, they went back to the hotel to prepare for their final show in Galar in Wyndon as rescheduled. “You know, we should combine these two songs that summoned Zarcian and Zamazenta” suggested Tom. “Right, I’m with you!” said Charlie as they were writing down lyrics. They also added their experience with Dynamaxing and their adventure throughout the Galar region as pitched in by the others.
The song became a smash hit with the crowd including Leon, Hop and Sonia erupting the Wyndon stadium with their cheer which is exactly like watching a Pokémon battle. The McBusted boys were proud of how their song ‘The Harmony of Galar’s Heroes’ has turned out which ended their tour in Galar on a high note with them coming out stronger from The Darkest Day.
