McBusted: The Celestial Reunion and Love

Here's my first fan fiction starting two UK boy bands McFly and Busted who renuite together as their super group McBusted, this time with Charlie Simpson joining them. To celebrate the reunion, they come up with a cover song Celestial as sung by Ed Sheeran (used for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet). Along the way, they have found love in each other  in an open polyamorous relationship. Enjoy it!

Chapter 1: The Stars Align

 It had been years since Danny Jones, Tom Flecther, Dougie Poynter and Harry Judd from McFly joined forces with James Bourne and Matt Willis from Busted as McBusted, creating one of the most dynamic supergroups. They have enjoyed every minute of it with sold-out tours, impressive single and album chart placement, fans of both bands getting together all over the world and many memorable moments including tattoo roulette, their synchronised hand clap and their human pyramid. The way both bands combined their performances singing both of their greatest hits and a few original tracks is like as one could describe it, a Power Ranger Megazoid, Steven Universe Fusion and Digimon DNA Digivolution.

 But after two years of excitement, both bands have parted ways with James and Matt reuniting with Charlie Simpson for a Busted reunion after 10 years and McFly working on other projects including their newly released albums. Both bands were also sorting out other issues that brought them closer along the way.

Still, a reunion is a possibility as said by Tom Fletcher that it definitely doesn’t feel like the end.  Little that they know that a chance of a reunion is more than a possibility. And that reunion is about to bring them closer than ever than they would imagine.

 It all got started when The McFly boys were at home one evening watching a live performance of their friends from Busted from the other day. Afterwards, they were gazing at the stars with Danny and Tom playing a tune on their acoustic guitars. It’s said to be a starry night which is why they decided to take a look at the night sky, full of dazzling stars. One of the stars that each of the boys saw was glittering like a diamond in the sky. It was as if it was shining on them. For some reason, the Busted show from earlier has reminded them of the McBusted days. They were the fun times. It made them want to meet up with Busted again.

 Meanwhile, The Busted boys were looking at the stars after watching a live performance of their friends McFly. They noticed three particular stars that were glowing with radiant energy as if it was shining at them. The McFly show they saw has given James and Matt some memories of joining with McFly as McBusted which helped to open the way for a Busted reunion which is just like how they helped McFly to rise to fame in the first place. Charlie couldn’t help but to be impressed with the McFly performance. He saw the potential in them and decided to take a step further.

 “Hey James, hey Matt, wasn’t that McFly show spectacular? Those boys had something...I like to meet up with them” said Charlie. That surprised his fellow bandmates. “You’re serious?!” said Matt with astonishment. “With those McFly chaps? Never thought I would hear that coming from you!” said James with surprise. “Why yes, you both have collaborated with them before. I like to get to know them better” said Charlie, messaging them.

On the other side, The McFly boys heard a buzzing sound from their phones, revealing an unexpected contact; Charlie Simpson. Their hearts were racing as they read the message, asking them to arrange a hangout. Each of the McFly boys arranged a time to hang out with Charlie with awe; not knowing what to expect but with excitement.

It started with Danny with Charlie hanging out in his studio. They were having fun, exchanging ideas for songs and banter. “I wonder how many still remember you for your eyebrows?” asked Danny jokingly. “More likely than you remembering that I was a Rhino for the Masked Singer!” said Charlie. “Oh yeah? Maybe I should get my Piranha outfit for a duel!” said Danny and they were both laughing together, happy their humour and inspiration had brought them closer. They then took a selfie together and shared it on their social media. It earned a lot of likes from surprised fans with many of them saying that this photo has brought their childhood crushes together.

Charlie then hangs out with Tom, meeting his family and Tom shows his books including his Chritmasaurus series and Pooping Dinosaur. “It’s just like songwriting which is just as enjoyable with both hobbies expressing my creativity” said Tom. Charlie admired his passion although he wasn’t too sure about the idea of a dinosaur that poops.

 Afterwards, he spends some time with Harry who shows off his dancing skills and marathon training. “All to get fit, get happy” said Harry as he jogs with Charlie who finds that he is having trouble keeping up with Harry. This strived Charlie to do better but as a healthy competition. Regardless, it was good to get some exercise out of it.

 As for Dougie, well he was bewildered with the jokes that Dougie came up with at his expense including one time when Dougie said “F*** my ass and call me Charlie Simpson!” Still, try as he might, he admired his spirit and passion to help with the environment.  

 Afterwards, James and Matt were invited to hang out with each of the McFly boys, having a casual catch-up which brought them memories of McBusted. It wasn’t before long until Charlie, having to get to know the McFly boys and seeing the potential, he said to Tom “I’ve been thinking; how about McFly and Busted get back together? This time with me onboard” “...Charlie! Are you serious about this?” Tom asked with astonishment. “Yes, I feel that I got to know you all, noticing the potential. Please, gather the others to meet me, James and Matt for a proposed reunion” said Charlie. Tom didn’t need to hear any more. He nodded and answered “Let’s do it.” As soon as the others got to message, they readily agreed to it as if they were thinking the same thing.

 Chapter 2: The beginning of reunion and love

 And so, both bands have met together in the studio, reuniting as McBusted for the first time in ages. This time with Charlie Simpson. Both bands were excited to meet up again.

 “Charlie’s joining us? It’s going to be amazing combining our jams together!” exclaimed Danny. “The fans are going to lose their minds for sure!” said James. “It’s going to be epic with Charlie added to the mix!” said Matt. “Yeah, good to have you Mate” said Harry as soon as he meet up with Charlie.

 With help from their managers, they were making arrangements for rehearsals, tour dates and ideas for their McBusted reunion show including a cover song that Charlie had proposed. “I’ve got this song in mind, ‘Celestial’ as sung by Ed Sheeran” said Charlie.

  “Celestial? Isn’t that the song that was used for a Pokemon game?” asked Dougie. “Why yes though with its incredible, uplifting vibes, I think it’s the perfect way to mark our reunion” said Charlie. That reminded Danny of something; “Come to think of it, I saw the starry stars with one of them shining so brightly the other day” said Danny. “Really, we saw them too” said James. This surprised them all, seeing the exact same thing as if this was fate. “Maybe that’s how you picked Celestial” said Dougie half-jokingly. “Ha, yeah but still, we need to work on which parts we should do. Can all of you give me a hand?” asked Charlie. “Of course, leave it to us” said Tom smiling as he plugged in his guitar.

 As they began working on their Celestial cover and their other hits, they feel that their chemistry was growing stronger with their individual styles blended in to create something even better as a supergroup.

 Over the next few days, The McBusted boys were working hard with the rehearsals and exchanging ideas while having some laughs along the way. They find themselves linking their hands on their shoulders, holding hands and holding on top of each other on the floor as they were laughing at each other’s jokes. It was as if something had sparked in each other.

  “I still remember when we sold out the O2 in minutes?” James said, smiling at the memory. “And how there was one show when Danny forgot to wear a vest underneath his shirt so he had to spend the night shirtless” Harry added, causing the group to burst into laughter. “Oh yeah? What about the time when we were almost late because you got lost! It took us ten minutes to find you underneath the stage!” said Danny as he playfully shoved Harry’s elbow.

 After the laughter died down, there was a moment of comfortable silence for a few minutes until Danny said in a more serious tone, “Hey guys, I’ve been thinking about how close we’ve all gotten even though we’re from different bands. It’s...hard for me to describe but there is something that has brought us together, not just with our music but with something...deeper than friends”

 James nodded thoughtfully. “Yeah, we may have barely got started with our reunion yet it feels like we have always known each other for years.”

 The others agreed and were thinking the exact same thing. It’s as if it’s a coincidence or if they’re telepathic.  They had always been close, but lately, that closeness had evolved into something deeper—something they had all felt but hadn’t put into words.

 “I’ve been feeling the same way,” Dougie admitted. “Like, maybe there’s more to what we have than just being mates.”

Danny looked around the circle, his eyes lingering on each of them. “What if we tried something different that involves building up our relationship to the next level?”

  “Are you saying what I think you’re saying?” asked Matt whose eyebrows was raised as he was intrigued.

 Danny nodded with a small smile playing on his lips. “Yes. We’re all close so why not explore that a little further and see what direction it takes us?”  “You mean, like… a relationship? All of us?” asked Charlie who was listening thoroughly and finally spoke up. “I don’t see why not. We all get along as a supergroup with an open mind so it’ll work out with honesty and communication” said Tom encouragingly.  “Yeah, let’s give it a shot with no pressure or expectations. Just let it go with the flow and see what comes out of it” said Harry eagerly.

 Both bands knew that they always had a strong bond which has the potential to become even more beautiful. They had a mixture of nervousness and excitement as it was uncharted territory but it was the territory that would be explored together.

 Chapter 3: Love that glows brighter than the stars

 Afterwards, they were done for the day. Dougie was heading towards the park but Danny caught up to him. “Dougie, wait,” Danny called out, his voice wavering slightly. Dougie paused, turning back to face Danny, a curious expression on his face. “What’s up?” “I er...let me go with you” said Danny who couldn’t help but find himself holding Dougie’s hand. It surprised Dougie at first but he didn’t mind it. He finds himself holding Danny’s hand tightly in return. “Ok” said Dougie and they walked through the city. The streets were quiet, the soft glow of streetlights illuminating their path as they strolled hand in hand.

 As they walked, they found themselves in a small park, the trees swaying gently in the evening breeze. They sat down on a bench, enjoying the peacefulness of the night.

 “This is a nice and peaceful evening for the both of us” said Danny softly. “You’re right, I feel the same way too.” Danny then turned to Dougie with intense looks in his majestic eyes and said “Dougie, whenever I’m you, I feel like I can be myself no matter what”. Dougie found that he was gazing back at Danny’s beautiful eyes and said “We always had a lot of laughs together yet you always make me feel safe.”

 Danny then wrapped his arm around Dougie, holding him closer, making their intense emotions for each other grow stronger. Danny remembered what they said about testing their bonds earlier. They both knew there was no turning back. “Danny…” said Dougie with giddy. “Dougie...” said Danny with his voice matching the same tone as Dougie’s.

 Without another word, Danny closed the remaining distance between them, capturing Dougie’s lips in a warm, tender loving kiss. Dougie couldn’t help but respond to that kiss back with emotion.

It was a kiss filled with all the unsaid things they had kept hidden for so long, not like their actual song or biography. When they were done, the Pones Duo were breathless, as they process what had just happened. “Wow, I’ve always wanted to do that for so long” said Danny, savouring the moment. “Not like those times when you casually kiss me on the cheeks” said Dougie jokingly. They both laughed affectionately.

Meanwhile, James and Matt found themselves alone in the studio. They have always shared a connection with their music yet they found themselves drawn into a deeper deep that they didn’t know they had. “You know James, ever since you and I were invited to join McFly as McBusted back then, I feel that it helped to strengthen our bond but lately, it feels that I’ve never been this close to you before” said Matt. James nodded in agreement and said “You’re not wrong about that. It feels so different yet it feels right.”

 James then said to Matt “You’ve got a bit of McFlurry on your lip”, noticing the McFlurry on Matt’s face. “Really? Thanks for letting me know” said Matt who was about to wipe it. “No wait, let me take care of that” said James, only to find that he grabbed Matt’s arms and gazed at his face. After a second of hesitation, James leaned in and captured Matt’s lips, giving him a tender kiss. As strange yet amusing as this was, Matt finds that he kissed James in return.   It was sweet and gentle, filled with all the unspoken feelings they had been harboring for years.

When they pulled back, Matt smiled with his heart racing and cheekily yet affectionately said “Thanks for clearing up the McFlurry.”  “No problem I’ve wanted to do that for a long time” Replied James. Matt wrapped his arms around James, pulling him closer.

 Harry and Charlie went back to Tom’s house to work on some chords for Celestial. Along the way, they talked about their dreams and ideas, exchanging their support and understanding along the way, staying up all night.

 “I see that you boys have been through some tough times that tested your bond. I’m glad that it all worked out that puts you all closer” said Charlie after Tom and Harry shared their testing times. “Thanks Charlie and I guess you leaving Busted has helped you to put your mind into a better place too, making you closer to James and Matt hence your reunion” said Tom. “I say if we both bands can work things out, then I know we can go through anything together as McBusted” said Harry. And that was the night when they shared a deep, emotional connection with them opening up to each other and laughing with Charlie topping it off with him linking Tom and Harry and affectionately kissing them both on the cheeks, much to their contentment. 

 Over the next few days, the McBusted boys got closer during their rehearsals, promotions and whenever they hung out together; flirting with each other and giving moral support along the way including winking every time they stopped and looked at each other for a second and Danny offering James to share his fish and chips, for which he appreciated. Each of the boys has their moments with one another or as a group.

 Thanks to the McBusted boy’s newfound growing bond, they were able to perfect their Celestial cover, finding that they were able to resonate with the lyrics throughout. “Whenever I’m with you all, I feel that my troubled hearts are a million miles away with me sharing just about anything with you like I have for my Podcasts. Just like it said in the song actually” said Matt. “Same here like whenever I’m lost, I see your arms reaching out to me” said Harry. “We are certainly finding magic as a band. Thanks for choosing that song Charlie” said Tom. Charlie smiled at them.

 Within the next few days, the boys were sharing photos of them spending them with each other which not only helped to build up the hype for the McBusted reunion but also for fans to notice that they seemed to be closer than ever just before their announcement on social media that McFly and Busted are going to reunite as McBusted, this time with Charlie Simpson. To celebrate their reunion, they have released tour dates starting with the 02 arena which was followed by a teaser of their Celestial cover. Fans all over the world couldn’t contain their excitement that McBusted is back with Charlie Simpson with their Celestial cover. It didn’t take long for #McBustedReunion to be trending on social media and tickets to sell faster than the speed of light with fans eager to see the supergroup back on stage once more.

 But it wasn’t until the day before their comeback tour is when their bonds were put to the test.

 Chapter 4 A test of bonds

 The McBusted boys were at a press conference, being interviewed about their upcoming reunion tour. “We had fun before but this time, it’ll be better than ever as we reach to new heights!” said Danny excitedly. “Especially with Charlie Simpson joining us this time round, making it the full McBusted group!” said James. “So watch this space with what we have to offer as a supergroup” said Dougie.

 After the interview, the boys were making their way to the exit of the building. However, because of the halls look huge and disorientated, they accidentally become separated from each other. “Guys? Where are you?” said Danny with anxiety and confusion. “Huh? Where did everyone go?” said Charlie, looking around the room with bewilderment. “Has everyone vanished in the face of the Earth?” said Dougie.

 They tried to contact each other with their phones but they weren’t getting any signal at all. “Ugh, out of all times!” ranted Matt as his messages weren’t going through, much to his frustration. “Please, pick up the phone!” cried Harry, trying in vain to ring his bandmates. Tom desperately calls out to his bandmates while James frantically looks around in each and every corner.

 As they were running along the corridor looking for each other, it’s like they were in a horror movie, separated from their loved ones and not knowing if they’ll ever find each other. There was something that made them feel more anxious about being lost and all alone, far away from their bandmates. At this rate, the McBusted reunion may not even happen. The rooms were dimly lit which doesn’t help their anxiety and uneasiness as if something was lurking in the corner. 

 With a stroke of luck however, Danny managed to find Dougie and James “Dougie! James! Thank goodness you both here!” said Danny, giving them a tight hug. “I’m so glad to see you here!” said James hugging him back. “So I’m I but we’re still missing the others” said Dougie. “Stay right close to me and we’ll find them together” said Danny, reassuring them both.

 Dougie and James huddled close to Danny as he searched for the others. Although finding a quarter of their band-mates has given them some ease, they were still worried about whether they’ll find the others safety and if they’ll get out of here alive. Dougie grabbed onto Danny and James’s outfits and cried “Please, don’t leave me.” “Tell me, will we ever get out of this maze with the others?” asked James worriedly. Danny wasn’t less anxious but he put that to one side for his bandmates’ sake and said “I promise that I won’t leave you behind and we will find the others”. He then gives them both a kiss on the cheek for reassurance. That helped to give James and Dougie some comfort.

 As they gained the courage to move onwards, Danny noticed something. “Hey, I think I noticed that we’ve been passing those green stripes walls for a while.” “Wow, didn’t think you have a memory of an elephant” said Dougie which made them smile despite the situation. James had an idea. “Maybe we should backtrack and see where it goes” he suggested. “Sounds like a good idea man” said Danny as the trio followed the green stripes which led them to the two paths; one led to the path with green stripes and the other led to the path with red stripes. “Ah, I remembered passing through here before I’ve found you both” said Danny. “But which path should we take?” asked James. “Since we have been wandering around the Green path, how about we take the red path?” suggested Dougie. “Right, I’m all for it Donners” said Danny and they followed that path.

 Eventually, it took them to the stairs that led to the hallway with Indigo stripes on the wall. “Should we take the stairs or keep going at the red path?” asked Dougie. “The colours seem to lead us to a different area so I say we should take the stairs” said James. “I agree, I don’t recall finding the stairs before. It could be the key for us to find a way out” said Danny. “Yeah, let’s take the stairs before it gives me a headache” said Dougie and they walked up the stairs.

 Meanwhile, Tom, Charlie, Matt and Harry have run into one another. “Guys, have any of you seen Danny, James or Dougie?” asked Tom. “No I haven’t. I’m not getting any signal either” answered Matt.  “I’ve been looking everywhere but I’m glad that you three have shown up” said Harry. “Let’s find them together” said Charlie as they set off.

 Likewise, they couldn’t help but feel lost and worried as they wandered aimlessly with three of their bandmates missing which felt like hours. “I’m worried about them. What if we never find them?” cried Matt. “It doesn’t look like we’ll be out of here” said Harry with fear. Tom and Charlie did their best to comfort Harry and Matt even if they were anxious themselves. “I swear we’ll make it out together” said Tom. “As long as we’re together, then it’ll be alright. I promise” said Charlie. Both of them looked at Harry and Matt in the eye, giving them a kiss to comfort them.

 They then discuss among themselves where they should go, trying to retrace their steps and remember anything that they saw that could be crucial. “If I remember, I saw some orange stripes on the wall before meeting you three” said Matt. “Same here except that the stripes were violet” said Charlie. “I was walking along the corridors with yellow stripes which is where we are now” said Tom. “Mine were blue but what does that mean?” asked Harry. Tom and Charlie had a thought. “They are four colours of the rainbow” said Tom. “And I think I saw some violet stripes when we first entered the building” said Charlie. “So I say we should go towards the hallway where the violet stripes are!” said Matt who noticed a path with violet stripes. “So what are we waiting for? Let’s make our way there!” said Harry and they walked towards the path with violet stripes. Tom looked at Charlie and said “We make a great team do we?” “Yeah, just like we should as a supergroup” replied Charlie looking at Tom.

 As both groups made their way through the seemingly endless labyrinth, they felt that they were getting closer as if by magic. This prompted them to rush ahead while still keeping close to their respective groups together. Each of the boys felt that they could sense where they were as if they suddenly gained telepathy. They moved even further until they not only found the exit but each other. Their hearts were filled with over joy that they ran towards one another until they were reunited.

 Danny and Tom, Matt and Dougie were the first ones to hug each other tightly, giving each other a kiss, followed by James, Charlie and Harry doing the same. Each of them shows their love for one another and their relief for their safety by embracing and kissing each other. This was the point where they found that McBusted were truly meant for each other as band mates, as a supergroup and in an open Polyamorous relationship. They were more than ready for the big day.

 Chapter 5 – The start of the tour and a new beginning

 “Well, this is it” said James on the night of their 02 Arena tour with them holding hands. “Let’s make this the night to remember together” said Danny as they let go and excited their synchronized clap, just like they always have been before they head to the stage.

The stage was set and the crowd roared with excitement as each member of McBusted took the stage; starting with their cover Celestial, performing it for the very first time.

As the music played, memories of their journey flashed before their eyes—the highs and lows, the breakups and makeups, the tours, and the laughter. This was more than just a cover; it was a celebration of their history and an anthem for their future.

“You see tonight, it could go either way

Hearts balanced on a razor blade…”

sang Danny, singing the first verse with his voice filled with heart and emotion

This was followed by Tom and Charlie singing

“We are designed to love and break

Then to rinse and repeat it all again…”

Their voices intertwined which blends in perfectly, combining the best of both worlds for both bands.

“I get stuck when the world's too loud

And things don't look up when you're going down”

As sing by James giving it his all singing the very song that he resonated with. This was the bass players Dougie and Matt's cue to sing

“I know your arms are reaching out

From somewhere beyond the clouds”

Their performance truly shows that the bass players can work together. Even Harry’s drumming didn’t go unnoticed as the drummed to the beat. All together, they sang

“You make me feel

Like my troubled heart is a million miles away

You make me feel

Like I'm drunk on stars and we're dancing out into space

Celestial

Celestial”

The McBusted boys were truly giving their all with not only their talent and passion but also their love and connection for each other. Fans were also connected to them as they cheered and joined in throughout their Celestial cover. The whole arena was filled with harmony. It was everything that they had hoped for. It shows that the power of music and love brings people together.

After their Celestial performance, the crowd’s cheers were echoing throughout. “Thank you all for being here tonight. We’re glad to be back as the supergroup” said Tom with his voice filled with joy and happiness. “This time, I’m here to stay for a new beginning” said Charlie. And the rest of the show was a blast with the boys singing their hits while humouring the audience along the way.

The crowd erupted once more as the band launched into one of their classic hits, the energy in the arena reaching new heights.

The McBusted Reunion tour has become a massive success with their cover Celestial became a major hit with the single release dominating the charts, reaching number one.

This means a lot to the McBusted members with the song that reflects both bands coming back together, stronger than ever.

Not only that but the McBusted boys have become more comfortable in their open polyamorous relationship, finding a balance that worked out and become closer than ever as the new chapter is ready to be explored. It wasn’t perfect with many challenges and obstacles in the way but they were able to work things out with clear communication and trust including allowing anyone else to join their polyamorous circle.  It also helped them to become closer to their wives who were very supportive of their relationship. Their fans also reacted positively which helped them to be open with their sexuality and relationship too.

After the tour, they were celebrating with fish and chips. “Well, that was an incredible tour!” said Dougie. “I agree, it’s one of the best tours hands down!” said Harry.  “No matter what obstacles we face, we’re in this together” said Charlie. “As McFly, as Busted” said Tom. “And as McBusted” said Matt. “I am truly proud of what we have accomplished, building on something amazing together” said James.  “To all the love, friendship, music, family and whatever comes our way” said Danny. “To McBusted” they all said together, bro fisting together which was followed by a quick kiss on the lips of whoever is nearest to them.

And so together as McBusted, they were ready for whatever the future held for them including many adventures that were set in store for them as their career and relationship reached new heights.
