Pokemon X The Magic School Bus
It was just like any other day at Walkerville Elementary School, where Ms Frizzle’s students had arrived in their class, waiting in anticipation for the arrival of their teacher, Ms Frizzle, who was set to announce a very special field trip. “I wonder where The Frizz will take us this time? Inside somebody else? Back inside the volcano or out of space, searching for new life?” asked one of the students, Ralphie, with excitement. Arnold, who is normally wary of field trips, said, “I knew I should have stayed home from school today”.
It wasn’t long until their energetic teacher, Ms Frizzle, had made her arrival, starting off with her announcement straight away; “Good morning, class! Today, we’re going on our most exciting field trip yet; The Pokémon Fossil Research Institute, where we’ll be learning how prehistoric Pokémon lived by seeing them in person, resurrected right from their fossils!” said Ms Frizzle with enthusiasm.
The class was very excited about this field trip. Even Arnold was looking forward to it (although deep down, he was wary of meeting a Tyrantum with it resembling a T. rex). “Oh boy! It’s not often that I get to see Pokémon up close!” cheered Wanda. “At my old school, we never had field trips that involved Pokémon,” said Phoebe. “I’ve been researching about them, but checking out their behaviour will help me out a lot,” said Dorothy Ann.
“Gotta catch them all, or should I say, gotta learn them all?” said Carlos, who already came up with a corny joke, causing everyone to groan, “Carlos!” Ms Frizzle moves things along, saying, “As one well-known Pokémon professor used to say, ‘Welcome to the world of Pokémon!” as she leads her students to the Magic School Bus, which transforms into a jet like Pokémon known as a Latias, fast-travelling to the Lental Region, where the Pokémon Fossil Research Institute is located.
As soon as they arrived, they were greeted by Professor Mirror, who shook hands with Ms Frizzle. “It’s nice to meet you, Valerie Frizzle,” said Professor Mirror. “It’s my pleasure, Professor Mirror,” replied Ms Frizzle. The students were surprised that they seemed to know each other (Ms Frizzle has been a visitor to The Pokémon Fossil Research Institute, where she made friends with Professor Mirror, helping her to arrange the school trip). He then said to the students, “Greetings, I am Professor Mirror, and I shall be your host for The Pokémon Fossil Research Institute. I hope you’re excited to see fossil Pokémon close up”. “We certainly are, Sir, especially with fossil Pokémon,” said Arnold, who likes rocks, which makes Rock types his favourite (but maybe not Tyrantum). Professor Mirror smiled at the students’ enthusiasm, saying, “My my, it’s good to see your students eager to learn about Pokémon.”
Professor Mirror introduced Ms Frizzle’s class to his friends and assistants: Todd, Rita, and Phil. Rita explained, “We’ve been studying fossil Pokémon and the moves they can learn. We hope to share our knowledge with your class.” Phil added, “I studied more than Rita,” which seemed to annoy her.
Rita turned to the students and said, “It’s nice to meet you all. You’ll see many Pokémon restored from fossils in recreated habitats.”Keesha replied, “It’ll be good to see this with my own eyes. As fascinating as it sounds, reviving Pokémon from fossils does sound far-fetched.”Phil exclaimed, “Huh? But they’re as real as Farfetch’d!” missing the point.
“Why of course, they are as real as they can be. I’ve taken one of them myself as I’m a photographer,” said Todd, showing Keesha a photo of a Pterosaur-like Pokémon known as an Aerodactyl (the photo also had someone blurred out). Ms Frizzle looked at the photo and said, “He’s right, I met an Aerodactyl at this very Institute too”, much to everyone’s surprise (although Professor Mirror knew about it).
Ms Frizzle explained the time when she was younger; she visited the Pokémon Fossil Research Institute when she found an Aerodactyl who injured its wing after going on a rampage as soon as it was revived from an Old Amber. She nursed it back to health, which helped it to gain her trust. Before Valerie left, it had given her a glowing stone as its parting gift. Ms Frizzle has kept it ever since. Her students were moved by her story. “Maybe we’ll get to meet this Aerodactyl,” said Tim. Ms Frizzle hoped so, too.
Todd has remembered something. He got out another photo of an Aerodactyl that was flying near the canyon-like sculpture, saying, “Could this be the Aerodactyl you met? I was taking photos at the Institute the other day and found this Aerodactyl wearing a Mega Bracelet on its neck. It’s known to be wary of others and spends most of its time around this canyon area.” Ms Frizzle took a closer look at the photo and said, “Why yes, it certainly looks like the same one I’ve met.” Her students looked at the photo with admiration.
“I am looking forward to seeing how your Magic School Bus works, Valerie,” said Professor Mirror. “I am delighted to lend you all a hand with my School Bus,” said Ms Frizzle as everyone was led into the institute without delay, with their assistance, lizard Liz driving the Bus behind them (Phil jokingly asked what kind of Pokémon Liz is, much to her annoyance). Unknown to them, there were three Pokémon Hunters who were eager to make a profit from fossil Pokémon.
Once they got inside The Pokémon Fossil Research Institute, Ms Frizzle said to Liz, “Ok, Liz, show our friends what the Bus can do!” and Liz pressed a button that transformed The Magic School Bus into a Lapras, which is specifically chosen to ride on the river. Professor Mirror and the others were amazed to witness such a transformation.
“Wow! You’ve been telling me about your Magic School Bus, yet I get to see it with my own eyes!” said Professor Mirror with astonishment. “I gotta take this photo!” said Todd, who eagerly took several snapshots. “I’ve never seen a School Bus turn into a Pokémon! How is it able to do that?” asked Rita with surprise. “It’s what our School Bus can do,” answered Arnold. Ms Frizzle added that her bus has a database which has the data about Pokémon that she’s been studying like a Pokédex, allowing the bus to transform into any Pokémon. “You gotta show me more!” said Phil excitedly. “Hopefully, we can see more transformations while on the bus,” said Wanda, as the students were looking forward to seeing what other Pokémon the bus could transform into. Everyone gathered on the Lapras-shaped bus, which drifted on the flowing rivers like a boat. “Time to take chances, make mistakes and get messy!” said Ms Frizzle.
Among the first fossil Pokémon were the Water type ones, including Omanytes, an Omastar, Kabutos, a Kabutops, Tirtougas and a Carracosta. There were also Lileeps and a Cradily that resembled ancient plants (Crinoids) underneath the surface on the seabed, and shrimp-like Pokémon (Anomalocaris), Anoriths, and an Armaldo near the water’s edge. “These Water-type Fossil Pokémon used to be found throughout the ancient seas. There are even those who can or used to live in the seas, even if they are not part of the Rock type, which makes it more fascinating,” said Professor Mirror as he explained Ms Frizzle’s class, who were thrilled to see living ancient Pokémon with Tim sketching them.
“It’s really fascinating to see how they very much remind me of the fossil that we’re familiar with. They look like ammonites!” said Phoebe as she pointed to a group of Omanytes that were accompanied by an Omastar. “It looks like those two are hesitant to go into the water,” said Keesha, noticing the Anoriths and the one Armaldo. “According to my research, Anorith don’t thrive in our modern oceans because the water composition has changed a lot since their era,” said Dorothy Ann. “You’re right about that, so we have to condition our water to suit them,” said Professor Mirror, who is impressed with Dorothy Ann’s research. “Rock types are weak against Water type moves after all, and that’s your type matchup lesson for the day!” said Ms Frizzle brightly. “They are crucial for Pokémon battles after all, even if I’m not much of a battler,” said Rita.
The next fossil Pokémon they saw on a nearby island where a group of Cranidos and Shieldon. Nearby where a Rampardos and a Bastiodon were fighting with their heads bashing together. “Er, is it just me, or are these Pokémon having a brawl?” asked Ralphie. “They could get hurt,” said Phoebe worriedly. “Not to worry; Rampardos and Bastiodon are merely sparring with each other,” said Professor Mirror, reassuringly, being used to this. “Just like with actual Pokémon battles,” said Phil dryly. “Rampardos has a thick, huge head while Bastiodon has a sturdy head, which makes them evenly matched!” said Ms Frizzle. “It’s like the strongest sword facing the strongest shield!” joked Carlos.
The bus led them near the land with unusual-looking fossil Pokémon that looked like their bodies had been mixed up. They are known as Dracozolt, Dracovish, Arctozolt and Arctovish. “Those fossil Pokémon look weird,” said Tim, who is perplexed. “I know, when I’ve shown my photos of them to the researchers, they thought I was making it all up, stuffing random objects together,” said Todd awkwardly. “It’s said that they were revived by a Scientist in the Galar region, where their fossils can be found, though neither of these fossils matches up with the other, which could explain their bizarre appearance,” said Professor Mirror. “They looked mismatched as the dinosaurs at Crystal Palace!” said Carlos, causing the others to groan, “Carlos!” “I say that they may look out of the place, but I’m sure that they are endearing as they can be,” said Ms Frizzle, showing her adoration for them despite their weird looks.
Next, the Bus swam towards two separate lands. The land on the left was covered in snow, which makes it the home to the ice-type sauropod-like fossil Pokémon Amauras and an Aurorus. “Wow, they’re so pretty,” said Wanda as she and the others were admiring the aurora produced by Aurorus’ sails on its neck. “At my old school, we never saw an aurora,” said Phoebe. “It’s a sight to see!” said Todd, who couldn’t resist taking a photo.
“They remind me of Amargasaurus except I recall that they’re supposed to have keratinized spikes on their necks,” said Keesha. “Actually, according to my research, it is now theorized that Amargasaurus have sails, just like Aurorus,” said Dorothy Ann. “You’re right on the mark, D.A.! Discoveries about dinosaurs have evolved each time, even getting ahead of what we first hypothesized,” said Ms Frizzle, who is impressed with Dorothy Ann’s research. “Evolving like Pokémon!” said Phil jokingly.
The land on the right is rockier. It homed to a group of small tyrannosaurid-like fossil Pokémon Tyrunts. They were accompanied by a Tyrannosaurus-like Pokémon, Tyrantrum. It appeared to be glaring at the Bus, which unnerved Arnold. “Don’t worry, Tyrantrum is only protecting its young,” said Professor Mirror, reassuring him. “Trust me, its bark is worse than its bite, even if it has a large jaw,” said Rita. “It looks like it has feathers underneath its jaw. I’ve heard that it was originally covered in feathers,” said Tim as he bravely observed Tyrantrum. “Excellent observation, Tim! It’s recently hypothesized that Tyrannosaurs supposedly had feathers, just like with Tyrantrum,” said Ms Frizzle.
The Bus headed towards another island full of trees, where there were several Archaeopteryx-like fossil Pokémon Archens that were gliding through trees. There’s also an Archeops that ran on the ground before taking off, which was an amazing sight to see. “Look at them, they’re trying hard to fly, just like with prehistoric birds,” said Arnold, who admired their efforts. “They may not fly as well, but I’m sure they’re trying their best,” said Professor Mirror.
The Bus made its way towards the mountain areas where Aerodactyls are found. Ms Frizzle hoped to see the one that she had befriended. Suddenly, Ms Frizzle and the others heard screams that came from several first-stage fossil Pokémon that were captured in the nets. They turned and saw three hunters with three Pokémon by their sides, including Lanturn, Tsareena and Revavroom. “These fossil Pokémon of yours are all ours!” said one of the hunters named Kody. “You let go of these Pokémon right now!” screamed Phoebe, who was upset seeing Pokémon captured. “Yeah, you have no right to capture them!” added Rita. “We’re going to ask you three to set them free and leave!” said Professor Mirror angrily. “Why not? These Pokémon will be valuable for the market with them being rare, ancient Pokémon!” said the female hunter, Sheryl, mockingly. “We’ll teach you, kids, for talking to us adults like that!” said the other male hunter, Kody, who ordered his anglerfish-like Pokémon Lanturn to fire its Thunderbolt at them. Liz quickly got out her umbrella to protect the students.
“I would kindly ask you not to hurt my students like that!” said Ms Frizzle firmly. “Who are you to get in our way?!” cried Richard with Revavroom charging towards the magic school bus using Spin Out. “You’re a teacher? We’ll have to teach you something,” said Sheryl as her Mangosteen-like Pokémon Tsareena leapt towards the other side of the magic school bus using its kicking attack Trop Kick. The impact from both moves has caused everyone to fall off the bus with Ms Frizzle’s students, Liz, Rita and Phil falling from the left side, and Ms Frizzle, Professor Mirror and Todd falling from the right side, separating the kids from the adults as they landed on different lands. The hunters left them to capture more Pokémon.
Ms Frizzle’s students felt uneasy, having to get separated from their teacher while the hunters were trying to capture the fully evolved fossil Pokémon. “Oh bad, oh bad, oh bad, oh bad!” cried Keesha. “I knew I should’ve stayed home today!” ranted Arnold. “What are we gonna do, what are we gonna do, what are we gonna doooo!” panicked Wanda as they watched helplessly. Rita stepped in and said, “We’ve gotta help these Pokémon, that’s what!” “But how? We’re not Pokémon trainers,” said Tim with anxiety. “We have written down what moves they can learn. That way, they can use them against the hunters,” said Phil as he and Rita gave out the cards that listed the fossil Pokémon’s moves.
This helped to give them the courage to save the Pokémon. “Let’s get out there and save these Pokémon!” said Ralphie with bravery. “Right now, they need us!” said Arnold and Liz transformed the bus into an Arcanine to quickly get to each of the habitats where the captured Pokémon, dropping each of the students off to help protect the Pokémon.
Arnold and Wanda helped Tyrantrum and Aurorus free the Tyrunts and Amaurus from the nets with their scissors. Aurorus looked relieved from the Amaurus to be rescued, which helped to gain Tyrantrum’s trust in the kids. Just then, Sheryl and her Tsareena showed up, saying “You kids should lay off our merchandise!” and ordered Tsareena to lunge towards Arnold and Wanda using Trop Kick. Arnold and Wanda skidded on the ground to narrowly avoid the attack, with Arnold bravely saying, “Excuse me, but this merchandise isn’t yours! Tyrantrum, use Head Smash!” and Tyrantrum charged into Tsareena using Head Smash (which would have caused some recoil damage, but this Tyrantrum has the ability Rock Head, which prevented recoil damage).
“Why you! Let me punish you punks!” said Sheryl, ordering Tsareena to lash out its huge vines with Power Whip towards Arnold and Wanda, causing them to fall onto the ground. “Aurorus, protect us with Blizzard!” said Wanda and Aurorus followed her command, unleashing its Blizzard towards Tsareena, covering the visibility. “Quick, Arnold, now’s our chance!” said Wanda, and they used this opportunity to lead the Pokémon to safety. Once the Blizzard wore off, Sheryl said, “Those brats aren’t going to get away with it!” and went after them.
Ralphie and Dorothy Ann were helping to break the nets that contain Omanytes, Kabutos, Lileeps, Anoriths and Tirtougas. However, Kody spotted them and ordered his Lanturn to use Thunderbolt to shock them. A Carracosta got in the way (having to spot the two kids freeing the Tirtouga) and took the hit, receiving a huge amount of damage with it being a super effective hit, but it managed to withstand the hit with its ability Sturdy.
Ralphie and Dorothy Ann were concerned with the Archelon-like Pokémon Pokémon getting injured. Kody laughed at them, saying, “That’s what you get for being too soft. It’s not even your own Pokémon!” “Well, none of the Pokémon here belongs to any of you!” cried Dorothy Ann. “Oh yeah? Lanturn, teach those kiddies a lesson by frying them with Scald!” ordered Kody, and his Lanturn fired its Scald towards Ralphie and Dorothy Ann, but they were saved by a Cradily, which took the hit from Scald, taking no damage and firing its Energy Ball at Lanturn with super effective damage.
“Is it just me, or did that Cradily not get hurt by Scald at all?” asked Ralphie. “According to my research, Cradily can have the ability Storm Drain, which makes it immune to Water-type attacks while boosting its Special Attack”, answered Dorothy Ann. “Maybe that’s how it can live in the water”, suggested Ralphie. “Well, they are supposed to be similar to Crinolds, but you could be right about that”, said Dorothy Ann, who is impressed with Ralphie’s theory.
While Cradily was fighting Lanturn, the fossil Pokémon that Ralphie and Dorothy Ann had freed were making their escape. “I can’t get my prizes away!” cried Kody and ordered Lanturn to use Thunder Wave to paralyse them. Ralphie and Dorothy Ann refused to just stand by and helped Omastar and Kabutops to fight by reading from the cards that were given by Rita and Phil that told them the moves they had. Ralphie asked Omastar to use Rain Dance, which made Omastar and Kabutops move faster with their ability Swift Swim, helping them to dodge Lanturn’s attacks and to defend the other fossil Pokémon while fighting back with their Meteor Beam and Stone Edge. “It’s good to take advantage of a Pokémon’s ability”, said Dorothy Ann, watching the fight. “Yeah, though I should have brought my umbrella”, said Ralphie jokingly.
“You kids think you’re so smart? Lanturn, dazzle them with Confuse Ray!” said Kody and Lanturn releases its glowing light on Cradily, Omastar, Kabutops, Ralphie and Dorothy Ann, making them feel dizzy. “Whoa, what’s happening?” said Ralphie wearily. “Yeah, that’s right, see if you brats can stink or swim!” taunted Kody as Ralphie and Dorothy Ann were getting close to the water’s edge, while they were confused, but an Armaldo and Carracoata quickly slammed their arms onto the ground using X-Scissor and Liquidation to make a loud noise that woke them up from their confusion. “That was close!” said Dorothy Ann, and Armaldo and Carracoasta fired their Rock Slide at Kody and Lanturn, blocking their way for everyone to make their getaway.
Meanwhile, Keesha and Tim were helping to free Dracozolt, Dracovish, Arctozolt and Arctovish from their nets. “They may look weird, but they’re worth rescuing”, said Tim. Just after they freed them, Sheryl and her Tsareena showed up, who went after Arnold and the others. “Well, what do we have here? Here I was, going after those other brats, though I can’t let you brats middle with these prizes of ours!” said Sheryl, who then ordered Tsareena to lash out its Power Whip towards the fossil Pokémon. Quickly, Tim and Keesha told Dracovish and Arctovish to counter each of the vines using Fishious Rend. "Get Frizzled!” said Tim as they fought back. “Bet they enjoy taking a bite out of that!” said Keesha.
However, Sheryl was using this as a distraction as she commanded Tsareena to launch its kicking move towards Tim and Keesha using Triple Axel. Dracozolt quickly defended them just in time using Bolt Break, although it got itself hurt with it being weak to Ice-type moves as part of the Dragon type. Keesha and Tim rushed to Dracozolt, and it crouched on the ground in pain. “Ha! How foolish of it, which I bet is what caused its own extinction!” said Sheryl mockingly. “For your information, they’re anything but foolish!” said Keesha, standing up to her. “Is this incompetent of them? Arctozolt, use Icicle Crash!” said Tim and Arctozolt summoned large icicles that surrounded Sheryl and Tsareena, forcing them to break through the icicles, which gave Tim and Keesha a chance to make a getaway with the fossil Pokémon.
Carlos and Phoebe were helping Rampardos and Bastiodon to free the Cranidos and the Shieldons. Just then, Kody showed up with his Lanturn leaping out of the water. “Now there’s a fish out of water!” said Carlos. “Carlos!” groaned Phoebe, showing her annoyance with Carlos making jokes at inappropriate times. “I can’t let more of our prizes get away, no thanks to you brats!” said Kody and ordered Lanturn to fire its Scald at Carlos and Phoebe.
Bastiodon stepped in and took the hit, facing the incoming attack with its shield-like head. “Thanks, but be careful there. You’re landing in hot water,” said Carlos with concern, aware that Bastiodon is weak against Water-type moves. “Well, you kiddies are already in trouble, and we’ll make you pay!” said Kody, and he commanded Lanturn to use Confuse Ray on Carlos and Phoebe. Quickly, Phoebe told Rampardos to charge towards Lanturn using Head Smash. It dealt a great amount of damage, but Rampardos got hurt by the recoil damage. “Oh, I’m sorry, you got hurt because of me,” said Phoebe, who felt guilty. Although Rampardos was hurt, it turned its head towards Phoebe, reassuring her that it’s ok.
“Aw, there’s no need to be sad. If it makes you any better, I’ll take it out of its misery!” said Kody mockingly and told Lanturn to fire its Thunderbolt at Rampardos. Bastiodon protected Rampardos from the attack, taking the hit and then unleashing metallic chunks right back at Lanturn using Metal Burst, countering Lanturn’s attacks with twice the damage. Phoebe and Carlos watched in amazement. “What in the world?!....” said Kody in disbelief. As he was distracted, Phoebe and Carlos made their escape along with the Pokémon. “They may be rivals, but I guess this puts those two rivals together!” said Carlos. “You’re right about that,” said Phoebe, smiling at him.
Liz helped out to protect the fossil Pokémon, too, as shown when she helped Rita and Phil to free the Archens that were caught in the net by transforming the Magic School Bus into a Gallade, using the blade-like arms to cut the nets. “Thanks! It certainly looks like a Gallade!” said Rita with astonishment. “Making good use of the Pokémon’s moves!” said Phil. Liz then spotted Kody and Sheryl, who were about to attack with their Lanturn and Tsareena. She quickly transformed the bus into a Gardevoir, using Protect to shield Rita, Phil, and the Archens just like how a Gardevoir protects its trainer with its life.
“Fascinating. If that was a Pokémon, that would be highly valued in the market!” said Sheryl. “Yeah, maybe for a garage sale!” said Phil mockingly. “Looks like I’ll teach you some manners!” said Sheryl and told Tsareena to use Trop Kick towards Phil and Rita. Liz transformed the bus into a Pikachu, swinging its tail to counter Tsareena’s Trop Kick. “It’s Pikachu!” said Rita with surprise. Liz then used one of Pikachu’s attacks, Thunderbolt (even if Tsareena doesn’t take as much damage from Thunderbolt), but Lanturn got in the way and absorbed Thunderbolt using its ability Volt Absorb.
“Ha! I can fight smart, too, you know! Now we’ll break down the bus!” said Kody, commanding Lanturn to fire its Thunderbolt. In response, Liz transformed the bus into a Porygon-Z, firing its Hyper Beam to intercept the attack. “Wow! The Bus would be a powerful Pokémon!” said Phil with amazement. However, Hyper Beam has a side effect that causes the Pokémon to be unable to move while it’s recharging, and The Bus receives the same effect. “The Bus will be ours now!” said Sheryl, Tsareena, and Lanturn were about to attack while The Magic School Bus was recharging, but an Archeops came swooping down, darting at them using Acrobatics as commanded by Rita. Rita, Phil, Liz, and the Pokémon made their getaway while the hunter’s Pokémon were down, meeting up with the others and making their way towards Ms Frizzle, Professor Mirror, and Todd, whom they were worried about.
Meanwhile, at the other side of the land, Ms Frizzle and the others were helping to free the Aerodactyls from the nets while being pursued by Richard’s Revavroom, just like a car chasing after them, with Revavroom resembling a car that comes to life. “You all can try to run and hide, but you all won’t get away with freeing my prizes!” exclaimed Richard as he rode on his Revavroom, which sped up towards them. “It looks like we have road rage!” said Ms Frizzle, trying to keep her cool.
Richard was just as ruthless as Kody and Sheryl, using Revavroom to attack Ms Frizzle at the others, including firing a large, filthy garbage using Gunk Shot and charging at full speed using Spin Out. They narrowly avoided its attacks by leaping into the caves, hiding from Richard and Revavroom. “I never thought I would get chased by a Pokémon,” said Professor Mirror, flustering.
They then discussed among themselves, with Ms Frizzle saying, “So we have found as many Aerodactyls, but I have yet to see the one that I have met. I do wonder where it could be?” said Ms Frizzle with concern. Todd had an idea, taking out the photo he had shown earlier. “We should try finding that spot where it likes to hang out,” suggested Todd. “Now that is great deduction from a photographer!” said Ms Frizzle brightly. Her compliment made Todd blush. “I do know this area if you all follow me,” said Professor Mirror as he cautiously leads Ms Frizzle and Todd to the canyon-like area, keeping an eye for Richard and Revavroom. Ms Frizzle said to Professor Mirror, “I hope that my students are doing ok”. “Me too, Valerie, but also Rita and Phil. I can only hope that they are watching over each other,” said Professor Mirror, sharing her worry.
At the Canyon area, the Aerodactyl that Ms Frizzle had befriended was hiding within the canyons, having to escape from the hunter’s attacks. However, Richard and his Revavroom happened to spot it. “There you are! You’re not getting away from me!” said Richard, and his Revavaroom was about to attack it using Spin Out, but the Magic School Bus (transformed as an Arcanine) came by and took the attack. Rita, Phil, the other students and the fossil Pokémon arrived soon afterwards. “We’re not letting you take that Aerodactyl!” declared Rita. “Or you’ll have to get through us!” said Arnold with the fossil Pokémon ready to fight by their side. “Think you punks can get in our way?” said Richard.
Although he was outnumbered, Revavroom gave them some trouble, who released a black smog attack using Haze to block their vision (and remove any stat boost that the fossil Pokémon has gained, such as Shell Smash) for Revavroom to ambush them using Spin Out and Gunk Shot. Liz backed them up by transforming the Magic School Bus into a Sandaconda, slamming Revavroom with its long snake-like body to defend the fossil Pokémon from its Spin Out and hit back using Earthquake, hitting Revavroom for super effective damage. “Go, Liz, go!” cheered Wanda. “The bus would make a powerful Pokémon!” said Phil, who was hype up with Liz seemingly having the advantage.
However, Lanturn and Tsareena have suddenly appeared, hitting The Magic School with Scald and Power Whip, which would have been super effective on Sandaconda. Richard took advantage by commanding Revavroom to charge in using Spin Out, dealing further damage to The Magic School Bus. “Oh no, Liz!” cried Phoebe. “Is it just me, or is this getting bad?” said Ralphie nervously. “It’s time to teach you, kids, a lesson for messing with us! Lanturn, use Thunderbolt!” said Kody and Lanturn fired its electrical attack towards the kids, but Ms Frizzle had shown up in time, taking the attack for them.
“Ms Frizzle!” screamed the kids. “As your teacher, it’s my job to keep you kids safe”, said Ms Frizzle, smiling bravely at them. Aerodactyl recognised Ms Frizzle, understanding her desire to protect her students and acknowledging that her students were doing all they can to help, giving it the courage to fly out of its hiding spot and protected Ms Frizzle from Tsareena and Revavroom who were about to attack Ms Frizzle using Trop Kick and Gunk Shot using Duel Wing Beat, much to the relief and astonishment of her students.
“Why hello there, old friend”, said Ms Frizzle, delighted to see it again and that it was safe. “So this is the Aerodactyl that you made friends with”, said Professor Mirror. Aerodactyl was happy to be reunited with Ms Frizzle. It wanted to help her fight. “Why don’t we celebrate our reunion while showing them an extra lesson?” said Ms Frizzle, who got out a keystone known as an Aerodactylite. “Hey, isn’t that a keystone?” said Rita with surprise. Ms Frizzle attached the keystone to her earring and pressed it, saying, “Time to take chances! Make Mistakes! And get messy by showing them a Mega Evolution!” said Ms Frizzle, mega evolving Aerodactyl into Mega Aerodactyl, gaining pointed stones on its body.
Everyone was astonished by the Mega Evolution. “Wow! I’ve never seen a Mega Aerodactyl before!” said Todd, taking photos of it. “They say that it’s Aerodactyl’s true form awakened by Mega Evolution!” said Professor Mirror with surprise. “I never thought we’ll get to see Mega Evolution!” said Tim excitedly, sketching Mega Aerodactyl as it fights the hunter’s Pokémon with its increased strength and speed and powerful moves as shown when it used Stone Edge to take out out Lanturn’s Confuse Ray, getting close to Tsareena and slapped it with its wings using Dual Wingbeat and swoop towards Revavroom and used Fire Fang to hit it for super effective damage. “You sure know how to battle well, Ms Frizzle!” cheered Keesha. “It looks like you have done your research with type matchups and strategy!” said Dorothy Ann. “It’s all part of learning about Pokémon”, said Ms Frizzle as she told Mega Aerodactyl to lay some Stealth Rocks onto the ground as traps.
“That won’t stop us!” cried Richard as their Pokémon charged towards Mega Aerodactyl, only to set off the Stealth Rocks trap, taking damage from the pointy stones. “Now that’s Mega awesome!” cheered Carlos, with everyone saying “Carlos!” although they agreed with him for once. “Now hit it, Aerodactyl!” said Ms Frizzle as Mega Aerodactyl swooped towards the Pokémon using Dual Wingbeat, which finished them off, much to the hunter’s disbelief. Liz then transformed the Magic School Bus into an Ariados, using Spider Web to trap the three hunters. “Bet you all wished that you stayed home today!” said Arnold. Mega Aerodactyl reverted to its base form afterwards.
After the hunters were taken away by the police, Professor Mirror and his friends thanked Ms Frizzle and her students for all their help. “We couldn’t have done it without all of you, though you have my apologies for putting you all in danger, which has got in the way of your field trip”, said Professor Mirror. “You have nothing to apologise for, Sir, we’re glad to help out the Pokémon”, replied Arnold sincerely. “This makes it an awesome field trip as heroes!” said Wanda, who was thrilled with the experience. “It was brave of you all to help those Pokémon. You all would make fine Pokémon Rangers, but I’m glad that you’re all safe,” said Ms Frizzle. Her students were delighted to hear such praise, while also glad that Ms Frizzle is safe too.
“It was great to meet you all. Your Magic School Bus is truly magical,” said Rita as Liz was making some repairs. Even though it got attacked, there was no major damage. “Yeah, amazing that it can transform into Pokémon!” said Phil. “Our bus can do anything”, said Ralphie. “Aerodactyl was amazing too,” said Phoebe. “Time never ceases when meeting up with an old friend”, said Ms Frizzle as she affectionately held Aerodactyl’s head, who was content with that. Everyone smiled, and Tim sketched this precious moment.
Before they headed back to school, Todd took a photo of the class with the fossil Pokémon to remember this field trip. Everyone waved goodbye, and the Magic School Bus transformed into a Latios, making its way back home. It was certainly the field trip to remember, meeting some ancient Pokémon while unexpectedly becoming heroes.
