Last year, I've been making stories about the McFly and Busted boys touring throughout the Pokémon regions. With Pokémon Legends Z-A, the second Legends side series set in Lumoise City in Kalos years after the events of Pokémon X and Y the latest Pokémon entry, I thought I'll up come up with a new McBusted Pokémon Adventures story that ties in with Pokémon Legends Z-A along with the DLC expansion Mega Dimension, guest starring my original character Dominic.
First, I like to note that it'll serve as a direct sequel to one of my previous McBusted Pokémon stories when the McBusted boys and Dominic were in Kalos which you can read here . The Lysandre portrayed in that story matches his counterpart in the Pokémon Anime but after playing Pokémon Legends Z-A, I thought I'll alter his characterization from my previous story to match his role in Pokémon Legends Z-A while also adding a prologue reflecting on this.
Dominic and the McBusted boys were invinted by AZ to take part in the Z-A Battle Club which lead them to get confronted by Rogue Mega Evolution. Enjoy and I do plan to make more Pokémon stories in the future.
McBusted’s Pokemon Adventures Part 16 – Mega Showdown
Prologue
It’s been a long time since Team Flare Boss Lysandre has launched an attack in Lumoise City in order to create a new world, only to be stopped by the boys from McFly and Busted, formed as their super group McBusted, and their friends. Since then, Lysandre has spent his time in jail, thinking about their words that show their compassion and love for this world despite the difficulties, and reflecting on his actions.
It made him think back to the days when he had the same optimism and passion when he formed the organization known as Team Flare, whose original purpose was to help people in need, using donations. As time went on, however, he would turn his back on humanity by noticing the ugliness of the people and the world, with his charity and donations not doing enough to help, blaming it on the overpopulation, with people unable to share limited resources.
Lysandre decides the only way to fix things is to create a better world by using Zygarde as a power source for the ultimate weapon, which can destroy the current world, reforming Team Flare. He believes he has everything to fulfill his dream, but the McBusted boys defeat him, proving their optimism makes them stronger. Realizing the pain and suffering he caused, he is left full of guilt and remorse.
A Zygarde cell observed Lysandre’s reflection. Distrustful yet compelled to keep watch, it waited as he reflected on his actions. Gradually acknowledging his potential for redemption, it revealed itself to Lysandre. Surprised, Lysandre listened as the cell offered him a chance to make amends by helping stop an upcoming threat.
Chapter 1 –
Chaotic showdown at Z-A Battle Club
My name is Dominic, a fan and friend of McFly, Busted, and McBusted combined, and a Pokémon Researcher. We were invited to return to Kalos to take part in the Z-A Battle Club in Lumoise City. I still remember McBusted having a tour in Kalos, only for us to become heroes by saving Lumoise City from Team Flare. It was hectic throughout, but I was glad that we were able to save the world’s beauty.
Since then, I’ve heard that Lumoise City has been undergoing renovations by creating wild zones that are said to help people and Pokémon to live in harmony and battle zones where trainers compete with each other for the Z-A Royale tournament, as I’ve mentioned before. It’ll be interesting to check out Lumoise City’s newest developments, which I’m sure will make Lumoise City even bigger.
I’ve met up with the McBusted boys in Lumoise City near our designated place, Hotel Z. We were all thrilled to see each other. “Heeeey, it’s our biggest fan!” cheered Danny Jones, who was the first to spot me. I went over to him, and we gave each other a hug. “Nice to see you all again,” I said with joy. We couldn’t help but hold each other’s hands and gaze into each other in the eyes as if we were lovers. Dougie Poynter noticed this and teased us by saying, “Now there’s a romantic scene already,” which made me blush. “Just like a reunion,” said James Bourne as he playfully joined in the banter. “Obviously a touching one,” said Tom Fletcher, and we all laughed with our banter.
We were then greeted by AZ and his Floette inside Hotel Z, whom we had met during the McBusted show back in Lumoise City. A heart-warming show it was with the song that the McBusted boys have singed has helped AZ and Floette to reunite with each other. He was the one who had invited us to the Z-A Battle Club.
“The idea of this tournament is to find the strongest Mega Evolution user in Lumoise City. I thought I’d invite you all as my way of thanking you all for saving Lumoise City and for helping me to reunite with my Floette,” said AZ. We were all intrigued by that. I have been studying about Mega Evolution and have a few Pokémon capable of Mega Evolving, including Alakazam, and the McBusted boys have been Mega Evolving their shiny Gallade and Shiny Gardevoir, although they have other Pokémon that can also Mega Evolve, and have found more Mega Stones since then.
“Now that sounds like a fine opportunity to use them for this tournament,” said Charlie Simpson with interest. “I’m in, and I shall be the strongest Mega Evolution user!” said Harry Judd, bragging as usual. “Nah, it is I who shall be the king of Mega Evolution with all of you the dirty rascals!” boasted Matt Willis. “Well, as King of the Jungle, I say bring it on!” said Danny, who is pumped up for a challenge. “Not without me sweeping you all like spring cleaning!” said James slyly. The McBusted boys were all in lively spirits as always, which makes them fun to hang out with.
AZ admired that too and said, “I see that you all have it in you. May you all use that to shine Lumoise City even in its darkest moments.” “Of course, we will, Sir, just like last time,” I said. We were then on our way to the Z-A Battle Club, although I was the one who was the last to leave Hotel Z and thought I’d heard AZ coughing, which sounded...deathly. I thought about checking on him, but I didn't want to leave the McBusted boys waiting so I quickly caught up to them.
We arrived at the Battle Park and met up with three young trainers named Taunie, Lida and Naveen. “So you’re the trainers that AZ has invited? I’m Taunie!” said Taunie. “It’s nice to meet you,” I said as I shook hands with her. “I’ve heard that you guys saved Lumoise City a while back. My Brother Urban and I like to get strong to help other people,” said Taunie. As someone who likes to help others in need, I understand her passion, which could make us friends and potential rivals.
“Oh my gosh! You're from McFly and Busted? I dance to your music to help me become a professional dancer! I can’t believe that I get to battle you all!” said Lida, who was star-struck seeing the McBusted boys, not that I blame her. Obviously (pardon the pun and me borrowing that from Tom from our earlier banter), the McBusted boys were flattered to hear that with Dougie saying, “You have some good taste there”. “Now our ears our burning,” said James. “Nice, bet they provide you all the energy just like for our shows!” said Danny, smiling. “You bet, and I’ll be using this energy on the battlefield!” said Lida.
The other guy, Naveen, wasn’t so sure about being cooped up with a large group, saying, “We’re really going to battle each other at the same time? I mean, your music isn’t half bad, but the battlefield would get crowded.” “Come on, Naveen, it’ll be fun! Besides, battling these musicians will be like battling Canari!” said Lida, teasing him. “You’re an aspiring fashion designer, so you’re a bit of a celebrity too,” said Taunie encouragingly. Naveen was flustered.
Taunie mentioned that they’re from Team MZ, whose role is to protect Lumoise City from harm. They’re friends with AZ, who first met him when she helped him to quell a Mega Pidgeot that went rogue (who would have stopped Mega Pidgeot himself with his Floette, but his aging body has prevented him from taking part in prolonged battles. Maybe that could explain his cough), so that’s why they’re in the Z-A Battle Club too.
It’s nice to have aspiring young trainers helping out Lumoise City, as said by Harry, “It’s good of you youngsters to do a good deed in Lumoise City, but that won’t stop us elders from winning this battle club!” “Was it too you? I would have thought that you all would be young for your age!” said Naveen, taken aback. “Well, I guess we still act half our age,” said Charlie, flustered at being dragged into this. “I like the fire in your eyes, but it is I who will come out on top!” said Taunie with determination.
It looks like we have a fight in our hands already, though we saved that for the actual battle with a shady looking business man named Corbeau from Rust Syndicate has arrived, explaining the rules for the battle club. “Don’t ask me why I was called out of all people to be the substitute referee, but it’s basically a free-for-all battle, with the one with the most points within two minutes is the winner. It sounds simple, does it not?” said Corbeau. “As simple as the ability simple!” said Dougie. “Well, I suppose that is one way to put it,” said Corbeau as his way to respond to Dougie’s particular sense of humour. He also added that we earn points by being the first to deal damage, using super effective attacks multiple times, knocking out a Pokémon with a Mega Evolved Pokémon, taking out a Mega Evolved Pokémon and so forth.
The Z-A Battle Club was a madhouse with each and every one of us going all out with nobody holding back, even as friends and bandmates (even with Lida being a fan of McBusted). Here are some of the highlights.
Danny sends out his karate Pokémon, Sawk, using its karate moves against its opponents, although some trees and fences got in the way, which wrecked them. “Better stay clear from our fists of fury!” joked Danny as Sawk was taking out opponents as fast as it could using Close Combat. He happened to be confronted by Harry and Sawk’s counterpart, Throh, who restrained Sawk by holding its hand palms. “It’s the end of the line, Mush! It seems that Judo beats karate!” bragged Harry. “Oh yeah? You aren’t getting in my way, Mush!” boasted Danny.
While Danny and Harry were preoccupied with each other, Taunie used this as an opportunity for her Mega Manectric to take down both Throh and Sawk with Thunderbolt, much to their surprise. “In the Battle Club, you can’t afford to get distracted. You gotta act fast or get washed away,” said Taunie. “Well then, I shall wash away the competition with my Mega Evolution!” said Danny, who sent out his Greninja and Mega Evolved it. Mega Greninja used its faster, ninja-like Speed to dodge Mega Manectic’s Thunderbolt and fired its huge Water Shuriken towards it, taking it out while inevitably cutting some nearby trees. Taunie was astonished and said, “Whoa, you don’t back down when it comes to type disadvantages.” “You got that right! I gotta rise to the challenge!” said Danny boldly (just like when he was on I’m a Celebrity).
Tom sends out his Maushold (Family of Four). “Alright, my Maushold army, pound them with your Population Bomb!” said Tom as each of his Maushold performed a combo attack on each of their opponents (though some had also damaged the plants and fences). According to Tom, using Maushold reminded him of his family. His Maushold happened to be up against Charlie’s Falinks with each of the individual Maushold and Falinks troops fighting with each other. “My Maushold army shall beat your Falinks army!” said Tom. “Well, good luck with that, as Falinks has a type advantage!” said Charlie, but it turned out that both of them were knocked out, resulting in a draw.
“It seems that both McFly and Busted are equals,” said Lida, witnessing this, who used her Mega Starmie, drenching its opponents with its Hydro Pump (although it missed the move and hit several objects in the way). “Nah, I’ll show you that McFly are superior!” said Tom, who sent out his own Starmie and Mega Evolved it. Lida was surprised that he picked the same Mega Evolution. “Alright, Starmie, use Thunderbolt!” said Tom and his Mega Starmie fired Thunderbolt. “Starmie, use Thunderbolt!” said Lida. Both Thunderbolts clashed into each other, shocking nearby fences, but it was Tom’s Mega Starmie who dodged Thunderbolt while Lida’s Mega Starmie got hit. “Well done, Starmie!... I think it’s my Starmie,” said Tom, who was confused.
James and Matt happened to be face-to-face with each other, using their Hatterene and Grimmsnarl (which is fitting since they’re counterparts after all). “Anything you throw at us won’t do much now!” said Matt with his Grimmsnarl, setting up Light Screen. “We’ll just have to bust our way in!” said James with James’ Hatterene using Dazzling Gleam, which was super effective against Grimmsnarl, taking it out. Matt switched into Overqwil, handling Hatterene’s Dazzling Gleam thanks to the Light Screen for it to lay some Spikes and launched its Gunk Shot on Hatterene, knocking it out. “How do you like them apples?!” boasted Matt. “Luckily for you, I came prepared,” said James, sending out his Lumineon, which got hit by the spikes. The butterfly fish, like Pokémon, used Defog to remove Spikes and the dual screens and fired Scald to burn Overqwil. “Well, that was good thinking of you,” muttered Matt.
Naveen also arrived with his Mega Scrafty, which came by and sucker punched James’ Lumineon with its Knock Off. “Bet you didn’t come prepared for this,” said Naveen. James quickly responded by commanding Lumineon to switch out using U-Turn and switching in his Delphox. “How would you win with a type disadvantage?” asked Naveen. “It isn’t always about type matchups, especially when you have the magic to overcome them,” said James, who Mega Evolved his Delphox, firing its Dazzling Gleam, which was super effective on Mega Scrafty, much to Naveen’s surprise. “Well, you are a smart fighter,” said Naveen, who sounded impressed.
Charlie’s Honchkrow flew towards it opponents at a far distance using Brave Bird while cutting through the bushes that got in the way. “Great Job, Honchkrow. As long as we can fight at a long distance, then we will win this!” said Charlie. However, James came by with his Hattrene, who carried objects, including broken branches and fences, using Psychic and tossed them at Honchrow to catch it off guard for Hattrene to follow up with attack with Dazzling Gleam. “Bet you didn’t see that coming!” taunted James
Taunie also happened to be nearby with her Mega Manectic fired its Thunderbolt Honchrow and Hattrene, knocking them both out. “It’s good of you to fight at a far distance, but don’t forget that anyone could be sneaking up on you,” said Taunie, who hid behind some trees. “Guess I’ll have to go brute force!” said Charlie, who sent out his Baxcalibur and Mega Evolved it. He commanded it to use Glaive Rush with Mega Baxcalibur, flipping upside down with its extended blade pointed toward its target, smashing through the trees and taking out Mega Manectric. “Whoa, that was one powerful blow!” said Taunie with surprise. “My Baxcalibur is pretty talented with its Mega Evolving and Terasatllizing!” boasted Charlie.
Dougie Mega Evolved his Malamar, firing its Psycho Cut at its opponents, including the nearby trees and objects, while smashing through with its Super Power. “Everyone shall bow to my friend Malamar! Surrender to my friend Malamar!” said Dougie (and no, Dougie isn’t hypnotized by Malamar, though I wouldn’t be surprised with the way he’s acting).
“We’ll put a stop to your friend Malamar!” said Danny, who commanded his Hawlucha to launch its Hi Jump Kick towards Mega Malamar. Dougie told Mega Malamar to move out of the way, which...you guessed it, caused Hawlucha to keep going and crashed into Lida’s Mega Starmie, knocking them both out. “Oh my! What a double knock out!” cried Lida. “Oh God! I’m so sorry about that!” cried Danny, blushing with embarrassment.
Matt’s Grimmsnarl wraps out its long hairs using False Surrender towards its opponents, which also smashes any nearby objects, including crates. “We’ll be smashing through this battle club!” boasted Matt. I spotted him and stopped his Grimmsnarl’s tracks using my Glimmora’s Sludge Wave, defending itself from its False Surrender. Naveen took the opportunity for his Mega Scrafty to score a KO by slamming into Grimmsnarl using Iron Head, which was super effective.
“Now that was sneaky of you both!” said Matt, who sent out his Chestnaught. “Sorry, gotta fight smartly,” I replied. “I couldn’t let you sweep all over the place,” said Naveen. “Well, my Chestnaught will teach you both a lesson!” said Matt, who Mega Evolved his Chestnaught. It used Spiky Shield to defend itself from Mega Scrafty’s and Glimmora’s attacks and fight back with its Drain Punch. “See? I can fight smart, too!” said Matt. I have to agree with that.
Harry’s Mismagius was up against Tom’s Gourgiest (Jumbo Sized), who dodges its Power Whip, causing it to smash through the nearby shrubs and crates. “Keep still, will you?!” cried Tom. “Sorry, but you need to do more running to keep up with me!” taunted Harry with his Mismagius, firing its Shadow Ball at Gourgiest, but not before it fired its Leech Seed at Mismagius, sapping its health. “How do you like them apples, or should I say pumpkins just like the ones I’ve carved?” bragged Tom.
Taunie came by with her Mega Manectric, shocking Mismagius with its Thunderbolt, taking advantage that its health was sapped by Leech Seed, knocking it out. “Sorry, I gotta strike at the right opportunity,” said Taunie as Harry sent out his Charizard. “I say that now’s the right opportunity to Mega Evolve!” said Harry, Mega Evolving his Charizard into Mega Charizard X, coming straight towards Gourgiest and Mega Manectric using Flare Blitz, which also took out the shrubs and fences. “Ha! A two-for-one for us!” said Harry.
I’ve started off using Palafin in its Zero Form, switching out using Flip Turn with Glimmora, switching in who laid some Stealth Rocks and Toxic Spikes (using its ability Toxic Debris every time it gets hit by direct damage, including when Lida’s Mega Starmie used Liquidation and Naveen’s Mega Scrafty used Knock Off) to deal extra damage and poison to our opponents. Taunie’s Mega Manectric narrowly dodged the Toxic Spikes but got hit by Stealth Rocks. However, Dougie removed them with his Torkoal using Rapid Spin, with Dougie saying, “Say bye-bye to your traps!” “Clever of you, but my Glimmora can pack some power,” I said as it fired its Power Gem, which knocked out his Torkoal with super effective damage.
“Don’t think you’ll get away with this!” said Dougie, who sends out his Stunfisk, unleashing its Earth Power, which knocked out Glimmora. He and his Stunfisk shared their laughter. I sent out Palafin in its Hero Form. “Never fear because Palafin Hero Form is here!” who charged into Torkoal using Wave Crash (although some crates and shrubs got in the way, so they got damaged), taking it down (even with Drought weakening Water-type moves with the Sun). Palafin, however, was then shocked by Mega Manectric’s Thunderbolt. “It’s nice to see its Hero form, but we’ll be the heroes here!” said Taunie. “Then my Mega Evolution shall be the hero here!” I said, sending out my Tatsugiri Curly Form and Mega Evolving it. Having twice the power, Tatsugiri pummelled Mega Manectric with its Draco Meteor, giving us a tasty revenge KO, as tasty as sushi.
Throughout our hectic battles, a man and a Zygarde at its 10% form were watching us. Before we knew it, two minutes with all but Taunie somehow tied points, and Taunie took first place by one point. “Oh wow, I guess we’re all good,” said Lida with astonishment. “Guess I barely won,” said Taunie, blushing, who wasn’t sure whether she should be proud or embarrassed. “Looks like we’re evenly matched!” said Danny. “That makes us even. For now,” said James.
“You all fought brilliantly and with spectacular performance...EXCEPT THAT YOU ALL HAVE WRECKED THE ENTIRE BATTLEFIELD!!!” yelled Corbeau. That was when we noticed that the battlefield looked like a meteor had struck the place. I guess that we were so caught up in our battle that we didn’t notice. Needless to say that we have to pay for the damage we caused.
Chapter Two –
Nightmare in hyperspace
Putting that aside, we all had fun going all out at the Z-A Battle Club. “That was so much fun, just like when we’re on tour,” said Tom, who was still hyped. “You can say that again. We totally smashed it,” said Charlie, agreeing with him. “It looked like our Pokémon had a field day, using all of their energy,” I said. “I guess it wasn’t half bad battling all of you,” said Naveen, warming up to us.
We were making our way back to Hotel Z when we found a young girl and a mythical Pokémon named Hoopa entering some kind of portal that appeared on a wall near Prism Tower. We were surprised to see that. “Is that Hoopa? Who was that girl?” said Lida with surprise. “Didn’t we meet Hoopa back in Pasio?” asked Harry. “I think we should check on her,” said Taunie with concern. “Yeah, she could get hurt,” said Danny, who shared her worry, and we all entered the portal.
The portal has led us to some kind of forest with the night sky above us. “Where are we?” asked James with surprise and confusion. “This isn’t Lumoise City, yet there’s something about this place that makes me nervous,” said Dougie, looking around with awe. We spotted the young girl and her Hoopa. We called out to her. She turned and said, “Hi, I didn’t expect to see a huge group of people here. I’m Ansha, and this is my friend Hoopa,” said the girl.
After we introduced ourselves, Taunie said, “We spotted you entering that portal. We were just worried about you.” “Yeah, we thought it would be dangerous without a grown-up watching over you,” said Matt. “What are you doing here anyway? Did this Hoopa of yours send you here?” I asked. “You didn’t need to worry about me. My friend Hoopa has the power to open hyperspace with its Hyperspace Hole. I am looking for a Rayquaza for my Mother Diantha,” answered Ansha.
We were surprised to hear that Ansha is Diantha’s daughter, the Kalos Champion whom we met. She wanted to get a Rayquaza for Diantha to show her love for her, although she doesn’t get to spend as much time with her due to her acting career. “How could you be so sure that Rayquaza could be found here? Isn’t that the Legendary Pokémon in Hoenn?” asked Naveen. “We met Rayquaza before. It even battled in space while Mega Evolved!” said Tom. Ansha was astonished to hear that. She added that she was interested in Rayquaza’s story, which is why she chose to get that Legendary Pokémon for Diantha. I may not know much about hyperspace, but I suspect that anything could be possible in hyperspace.
Just then, we heard an ominous voice that said, “...Stay away! Stay away! It hurts!...” The voice started us. “Huh? Who said that?! I nearly jumped out of my pants,” said Dougie nervously. I can tell that the voice sounds like it’s in pain, making me feel sorry for it. Within seconds, a Darkrai has appeared, a mythical Pokémon that can cause nightmares. “What is that?” said Charlie with surprise. “A Darkrai, but why here?” I said.
Suddenly, Darkrai became surrounded by Mega Evolution energy, causing it to Mega Evolve, much to our surprise. “A Rouge Mega Darkrai?!” exclaimed Taunie as Mega Darkrai attacked us with its Dark Pulse. “Why is it attacking us?!” cried Harry. “I think it’s in pain with this Mega Evolution energy!” I answered. “You got that right, it’s Rouge Mega Evolution for you! We have to fight it!” said Taunie. Ansha stayed back while we sent out our Pokémon to fight it.
The trouble with Mega Darkrai is that it can either put our Pokémon to sleep or make them drowsy with its Dark Void, and its ability, Bad Dreams, causes extra damage while they are sleeping. “Come on, Hawlucha, wake up!” cried Danny anxiously as his Hawlucha was falling asleep. “No use if Scizor can’t move as much,” said James as his Scizor’s movements became sluggish, with it feeling drowsy.
If that wasn’t bad enough, Mega Darkrai can also create copies of itself, with each of the clones firing their attacks together. “This is turning into a nightmare!” cried Dougie. “How can we get out of this nightmare?!” yelled Lida. I had an idea. “You are all rock bands, so why don’t you use your music to wake them up?” I called. “Why of course!” said Tom, and they played their instruments, which helped to wake up their Pokémon. “Oh wow! Never thought that your music could help our Pokémon,” said Naveen as his Scrafty woke up. “You have us musicians to thank,” said Harry. “Bet your drumming causes a racket,” said Matt, enlightening the mood. Ansha seemed astonished by the McBusted boys playing their instruments.
Our Pokémon attacked each of the clones, taking great care to avoid Dark Void. We all helped each other along the way, including Danny’s Hawlucha pushing Tom’s Blaziken away from Dark Void in time, James’ Scizor protecting Matt’s Emboar from Dark Pulse using Bullet Punch, and my Glimmora firing its Power Gem at Mega Darkrai’s attacks to protect Taunie’s Manectic, Lida’s Starmie, and Naveen’s Scrafty.
Mega Darkrai was still tough (and I can hear its suffering), so we decided to even the score by Mega Evolving our Pokémon. “Alright, Hawlucha, show them your moves!” said Danny with his Mega Hawlucha using its Close Combat on the Dark Pulse, defending the others and hitting Mega Darkrai for super effective damage. “Your nightmares can’t catch us now!” said Tom with his Mega Blaziken, dodging Dark Void using the extra Speed it has gained from Speed Boost and striking Mega Darkrai using Close Combat.
“Gotta take them all out!” said James with his Mega Scizor, quickly striking the Mega Darkrai clones using Bullet Punch. “Let us aid you all,” said Charlie with his Mega Meganium, using Light Screen to reduce the damage from Dark Pulse while hitting back with Dazzling Gleam. “Now chomp through the nightmare!” said Dougie with his Mega Feraligatr charging in using Liquidation, strong enough to cut through Dark Pulse.
Matt Mega Evolved his Emboar, who charged into Mega Darkrai like a rushing comet, using Flare Blitz while avoiding Dark Void. “That’s the way!” cheered Matt. Harry’s Mega Absol uses its ability Magic Bounce to bounce back Dark Void, although the rogue Mega Evolution energy has prevented Mega Darkrai from falling asleep. Still, Harry used this as an opportunity for his Mega Absol to attack with Play Rough. “Gotta focus on the offense,” said Harry.
I helped to defend Taunie, Lida, and Naveen’s Mega Manectric, Mega Starmie, and Mega Scrafty with my Mega Glimmora, firing its Power Gem on Mega Darkrai’s Dark Pulse, including against the clones, helping those three to attack. “Thanks, you show some great skill!” called Taunie. “It’s to help you all!” I replied.
With our teamwork combined, we were all able to subdue Mega Darkrai, although we still sense some Mega Energy that could activate at any moment, so we stayed on guard. Ansha then called out and said, “I’ve just remembered that I’ve found this before you all found me. It looked like it has lyrics written on” said Ansha, passing a stone tablet.
We were intrigued as we read the lyrics and musical notes that describe people and Pokémon strengthening the bond with Mega Evolution. There was also a message that said to play that song when Mega Evolution goes out of control. “Maybe this song could help to free Mega Darkrari from Mega Energy,” suggested Tom. “So we'd better play it right away!” said Matt, and they quickly learn the song and played a soothing song, which seemed to help repel the rogue Mega Evolution energy from the weakened Mega Darkrai, reverting it to its base form. Darkrai glanced at us as if it were its way of thanking us and went away.
“Our performance worked!” cheered James. “I never thought that your singing could help Pokémon!” said Taunie with surprise. “It was an excellent performance!” cheered Lida. “Well, that was hectic, but it’s over for now,” said Naveen. “Thank goodness that we were able to help it,” I said.
Ansha came up to us and said that she was amazed by our battling skill, which reminded her of her Mother’s. “I guess I needed protecting after all. Oh, the way you McFly and Busted guys sing that song was amazing,” said Ansha. “Of course, we’re amazing, aren’t we, although we should show you our full performance as a super group,” beamed Danny. “I would like that! For now, we'd better get out of here while we can. Maybe I can meet Rayquaza another day,” said Ansha. As we made our way out, Charlie said, “So this was Rogue Mega Evolution. We have to use our song to stop it before any more Pokémon go berserk with forced Mega Evolution,” said Charlie. We all agreed with that.
Once we made it back to Lumoise City, we met up with Zygarde in its 10% form, handing over a seemingly ordinary rock. We were surprised to see Zygarde again. “Why hello there, Zygarde,” I said. “Er, thanks for the rock, I guess,” said Dougie, perplexed. We also met a tall man who goes by the name L. He said to us, “I saw your battle. I can tell that each of you has the passion and conviction that makes you all strong, which you must use to avert the upcoming crisis in Lumoise City.” L and Zygarde made their leave.
“What gives, and who was that?” said Harry, who was confused by that encounter. I held onto the rock, and we made our way back to Hotel Z. I couldn’t help but feel that there was something peculiar about L. It’s as if I have met him before.
Chapter 3 – Rogue
Mega Evolution Showdown in Lumoise City
We got back to Hotel Z, telling AZ all about what had happened in the hyperspace hole with Ansha and Hoopa meeting up with AZ. “It’s nice to meet you, Sir,” said Ansha, shaking hands with AZ. She told him that she is Diantha’s daughter. “Ah, yes, it’s nice to have more aspiring young protégées with the shining potential, just like with Team MZ, who have shoes to fill,” said AZ. “Kinda just like with our kids, like how one of mine sang Treads of Hope with me,” said Tom, joining in. “Er, I’m not sure if I could live up to her expectations,” said Ansha, blushing.
I couldn’t help but find that AZ may have a hidden meaning when he says that Team MZ has shoes to fill. Anyway, AZ explained that the reason for finding the strongest Mega Evolution user is to find someone who is worthy of Mega Evolving his Floette, who has the power to stop the source of Rouge Mega Evolution; Ange.
“You all have seen Darkrai, who must have wandered into Lumiose City, which caused it to undergo Rouge Mega Evolution, and more Pokémon will suffer the same fate if Ange isn’t stopped,” said AZ. “Your Floette can Mega Evolve? I thought only fully evolved Pokémon can Mega Evolve,” said Naveen as we were surprised to hear that his Floette is capable of Mega Evolving. “Excuse me, but what is Ange you speak of?” asked Matt.
AZ explained that Ange is a machine located in Prism Tower, the counterpart to the Ultimate Weapon that was fired years ago. Its purpose is to grant external life to living beings using Mega Power, but its powers have become out of control, causing it to attract wild Pokémon and again, inducing Rouge Mega Evolution. It is believed that Mega Floette has the power to control Ange.
With Taunie, the winner of the Battle Club Z-A, she is chosen to wield AZ’s Floette. “I hope to use your Floette to protect Lumoise City as the strongest Mega Evolution trainer for me to find my missing Mother. This jacket is what I have left of her,” said Taunie. We were all supportive of Taunie’s wishes. “You have truly earned your status as the strongest Mega Evolution user,” I said, cheering her on. “Yeah, my best wishes for you,” said Harry supportively. “I hope you’ll find your Mother,” said Ansha with sympathy. “May you protect Lumoise City, which will make her proud,” said Danny encouragingly. Taunie was grateful for our support.
We also mentioned the song that we have found in hyperspace that could help to free Pokémon. AZ was intrigued by this. “Fascinating, I do believe that you, McBusted boys, have the power to use your vocals to save Pokémon from Rogue Mega Evolution, just like how your music has helped to reunite my Floette,” said AZ, smiling. “Yes, we are willing to use our voices to help out Pokémon in need,” said Tom. “How I wish to hear this song of yours, but time is running short,” said AZ.
AZ wished us good luck as we were escorted by Vinnie from Quasartico Inc towards Prism Tower, while AZ went onto the rooftop to witness the event, seeing Prism Tower at a distance.
Once we arrived at Prism Tower, we waited outside while Taunie and her Floette went to the control panel of Ange. Taunie Mega Evolved Floette to absorb the tower’s Mega Power...but it all went wrong with Ange becoming rogue, absorbing Mega Floette’s power, and turning into Hyperrogue Ange Floette with Ange glowing with Mega Power and giant roots appearing from the ground.
“What’s going on?! Prism Tower is alive?!!” exclaimed James as we watched in horror. “Taunie!” cried Lida. If that wasn’t bad enough, Vinnie has received reports that wild Pokémon are undergoing Rogue Mega Evolution and are on a rampage. “Oh, men, Lumoise City will be in chaos!” cried Dougie. Vinnie quickly contacted Lumoise City’s top trainers to stop Rogue Mega Evolution. “Let us help, Sir. We have the power to free them from Rogue Mega Evolution with our song!” begged Charlie. “It’s true, Sir, we have found the song from a hyperspace hole!” said Ansha, backing him up.
Vinnie was sceptical, but he did allow us to help as he said, “I don’t know if this song of yours will reach Pokémon, but we do need all the help we can get.” Before we split up to help the other trainers fight and subdue Rouge Mega Evolution, we checked on Taunie, contacting her with our Rotom phone to make sure that she’s ok. “I’m fine! I may be trapped, but I’ll keep you all updated while you all help to protect Lumoise City!” replied Taunie. It’s good that she’s doing ok, but we went out there to save Lumoise City.
Matt and his Mega Tyranniar helped Lida and her Mega Starmie to fight against a Rogue Mega Banette and a Rogue Mega Lopunny, combining their Stone Edge and Psyshock with the small, sharp stones and psychic orbs, striking them both. “That makes a great combination! It’s just like combining dance moves!” said Lida, who witnessed both moves combined with amazement. “You got that right! It’s just like both McFly and Busted combining our performance!” said Matt.
However, their Mega Tyranitar and Mega Starmie got hit by a rogue Mega Golurk’s Dynamic Punch, causing them to become confused. “Oh no! It’s like their dance moves are being disrupted!” cried Lida. “Tyranitar! Are you ok?!” called Matt, who was worried about Mega Tyranitar taking a huge hit with its x4 weakness to Fighting-type moves. Mega Golurk launched up and was about to slam into Mega Tyranitar and Mega Starmie using Heavy Slam while they were dizzy, but Hoopa ambushed it using Hyperspace Hole (just like one of those moments when a hero arrives at the right moment). “I may not be a trainer, but I wasn’t going to just stand there! I got to get strong just like my Mama!” said Ansha. “Thanks! You’re definitely following her footsteps!” cheered Matt as Mega Tyranitar and Mega Starmie snapped out of confusion and attacked Mega Golurk with their Knock Off and Hydro Pump. They also helped out Hoopa in return to fight a Rogue Mega Slowbro and a Rogue Mega Victreebei.
Charlie stayed with Vinnie, using their Mega Metagross and Mega Drampa to fight against a rogue Mega Steelix and a rogue Mega Scovillian. They helped to cover each other’s weaknesses with Mega Metagross blocking Mega Steelix with its large claws when it was about to attack Mega Drampa with Iron Head and slamming it onto the ground, while Mega Drampa countered Mega Scovillain’s Flamethrower with its Dragon Pulse.
“We do make a great team, Sir!” said Charlie. “Impressive, considering that you’re the ones who saved Lumoise City a while back,” replied Vinnie. Vinnie then added, “We at Quasartico Inc. strive to protect Lumoise City from Rouge Mega Evolution by developing those wild zones. Not everyone agrees with them, but we have to do our bit to protect the bond between people and Pokémon as per AZ’s wishes,” said Vinnie. Charlie gets that Vinnie is friendlier than he looks. This would help us to get a better understanding of Quasartico Inc.’s intentions.
James and his Salamence helped Emma, who now runs a detective agency, and her Mega Ampharos. “You have grown a lot since we last met you,” said James as his Salamence was fighting a Rouge Mega Medicham. “Thanks, James. It’s been a while. Since I’ve helped to save Lumoise City, I thought I could do more by helping to solve mysteries as inspired by my former mentor,” said Emma as her Mega Ampharos fired its Thunderbolt at a Rogue Mega Blastoise.
Suddenly, they were attacked by meters falling towards them as set by a Rogue Mega Dragonite using Draco Meteor. “It’s raining Draco Meteors, which will wreck Lumoise City at this rate!” cried Emma, who fell onto the ground. “Not for long!” said James, who Mega Evolved his Salamence, charging towards Rouge Mega Dragonite using Double-Edge boosted by its ability Aerilate, making it a face-off between the two Dragon types. Rogue Mega Dragonite fought back with Extreme Speed, pushing back Mega Salamence, but Emma helped out with her Mega Ampharos, firing its Dragon Pulse at it. James thanked Emma for the help, saying, “Wow, you definitely have become a lot more formidable,” which flattered Emma.
Dougie helped Lumoise City’s popular streamer Canari and her grandfather Tarragon, who used their Mega Eelecktross and Mega Excadrill to fight the Rogue Mega Evolution. Canari seems rather thrilled to fight with Dougie, saying, “Oh my Gosh! You’re Dougie from McFly and McBusted? I should get you and the other McBusted boys to collab with me for my streams!” “So you’re this Canari that I’ve been hearing about? I am so star-struck to meet Lumoise’s popular streamer and gamer,” said Dougie, who was intrigued to meet Lumoise’s local internet star. Naveen, who secretly watched this from afar, seemed jealous of Dougie, who gets to fight with his favourite idol, yet he is nervous to meet her face-to-face.
“You pop stars have good taste” said Terragon with his Mega Excadrill helping to protect Canari from Rogue Mega Camerupt with its Earthquake. Dougie Mega Evolve his Gyarados which fights with Canari’s Mega Eelecktross as they charged into their opponents with their Waterfall and Wild Charge towards Rogue Mega Houndoom and Rogue Mega Sharperdo. “We make a great team!” cheered Dougie. “Just like a fantastic collaboration!” said Canari excitedly. Bet that would go viral.
However, a Mega Glalie came by and froze them with Blizzard. “Oh no! Now it’ll devour them!” cried Dougie (referring to Glalie’s Pokedex entry). It fired its Blizzard towards Dougie and Canari but Terragon and his Mega Excadrill got in the way with Terragon saying “Don’t you dare lay a scratch on her!” said his Mega Excadrill fights through Blizzard using Iron Head, hitting Mega Glalie, only for Mega Gengar to come by and took it down with its Shadow Ball. Terragon nearly got hit by Shadow Ball too as he fell onto the ground.
“No! Grandpa!” cried Canari, rushing over to him. Canari was about to get attacked by a Rogue Mega Gengar’s Shadow Ball, but Naveen’s Mega Scrafty ambushed it with its Knock Off. That helped to give enough time for Mega Gyarados and Mega Eelecktrss to defrost, with Mega Gyarados taking out Mega Gengar with Crunch. Canari spotted Naveen and said, “Why, thank you. That brave action of yours makes you a top Canatic!” Naveen blushed in response. “Yeah, consider yourself a hero fanboy!” said Dougie as he helped to pick up Terragon from the ground, who was ok, much to Canari’s relief.
Danny and his Garchomp fight alongside Ivor from The Fist of Justice and his Mega Falinks, helping him protect his younger sister, Gwynn, who fights alongside her Mega Chandelure. “My, you seem as strong as I with your Pokémon full of vigour!” said Ivor, who witnessed Danny’s Garchomp striking a rogue Mega Mawile and a rogue Mega Kangaskhan with its Earthquake. “Thanks, you seem to be pretty strong with those muscles of yours!” replied Danny, fist-bumping Ivor. “You have a good eye there! Watch how I use them to protect my little Sis!” said Ivor as he and Mega Falinks rushed towards a Rogue Mega Golisopod and a Rogue Mega Froslass, who were fighting Gwynn’s Mega Chandelure, only for Ivor to miss and hit a wall, leaving Mega Falinks to block Rogue Mega Golisopod and Rogue Mega Froslass’ attacks with their spear and shield. Gwynn doesn’t seem to think much of her Brother Ivor and said, “I can handle them myself” as her Mega Chandelure took down these two Mega Evolutions with its Heat Wave.
Gwynn and her Mega Chandelure were about to get hit by a Rogue Mega Meowstic firing its Shadow Balls, but Danny and his Garchomp rushed in and said, “Let me protect you with my Fist of Justice!” and punched the Shadow Ball, which caused it to be redirected towards Ivor, who narrowly dodged it while Garchomp took out Mega Meowstic with Scale Shot. Gwynn actually found it funny and said, “You fit in well for Fist of Justice”. “You think so, thanks!” said Danny.
A Rogue Mega Garchomp shook the ground with Earthquake, toppling Danny and Gwynn. Ivor and Mega Falinks rushed up. "You'll have to get through me first!" Ivor shouted and punched at Garchomp’s scythe arms. Mega Garchomp knocked them aside with Iron Head. "Ivor, don't be a fool!" Gwynn yelled, running over to help him up.
“It’s time for me to protect you both!” Danny said, Mega Evolving his Garchomp into Mega Garchomp Z. It hovers to dodge Earthquake, then crashes down with Dragon Rush. "Strong and actually smart. You should be more like him," Gwynn said, watching Danny and Mega Garchomp Z fight a Rogue Mega Swampert. "Of course, I can use my head for justice," Ivor replied, missing the point. Danny and Ivor make a fitting pair, though Danny is shown to be smarter.
Tom and his Lucario team up with the two members of Rust Syndicate, Corbeau and Philippe, with their Mega Scolipede and Mega Skarmory, fighting a rogue Mega Aggron and a rogue Mega Barbaracle. Not so surprisingly, Tom felt nervous teaming up with those two with them belonging to a Yakuaza-like group (and what happened at the Z-A Battle Club earlier) but he finds that they are actually cordial and only wants the best for Lumiose City as shown when Corbeau ordered his Mega Scolipede to defend Tom’s Lucario from a Rogue Mega Sableye’s Shadow Ball by ramming its Megahorn at the attack, allowing Tom’s Lucario to return the favour with its Flash Cannon.
“You are shown to be skilled and talented for a pop star,” said Corbeau. “Well, thanks, Sir, I have to utilize my skills whenever I’m on stage, writing books or for my Pokémon battles,” replied Tom. Corbeau then mentioned, “You were the ones who saved Lumiose City back then, didn’t you? Just try not to hold it against Lysandre. He was the one who was there for me when I had nothing, back when I was an outsider as a child.” Tom was surprised that Corbeau knew Lysandre. “We had to stop him, but I know that there is some good in him. I can only hope that he will have changed,” said Tom (something that I hoped too. I still wished that I could have helped him more).
Philippe came by and said, “Just remember that we’re not letting you off easy with the damage you caused. You all still owe us exactly $1.” Tom felt sheepish, but Corbeau surprisingly stood up for him and said, “Saving Lumiose City will help to pay off the debt”. Tom wasn’t sure if that was much of a victory. Suddenly, a Rogue Mega Lucario came by and hit Mega Scolipede with its Meteor Mash, causing it to fall towards Corbeau, who narrowly dodged out of the way in time. “Boss!” cried Philippe, and his Mega Skarmory tried to avenge him by charging into Mega Lucario using Brave Bird, but Mega Lucario kept on dodging it using Extreme Speed. “Time to even the score!” said Tom, who Mega Evolved his Lucario into Mega Lucario Z, firing its Aura Sphere at Mega Lucario. “I guess it looks like we owe you one,” said Corbeau, thanking him as Philippe picked him up, as Tom’s Mega Lucario Z fights against Mega Lucario’s Close Combat by firing multiple Aura Spheres.
Harry and his Absol teamed up with Lumiose’s upperclass woman, Jacinthe, and her assistant, Lebanne, from the Lumiose Society of Battle Connoisseurs. Just as his Absol helped Jacinthe’s Mega Clefable to take out a rogue Mega Abomasnow with its Knock Off, Jacinthe was impressed with Harry’s skills and the fact that he’s from McFly/McBusted, saying, “So you’re from McFly and McBusted? It’ll be an honour to have a fellow celebrity to join my tournament once this crisis is over” Jacinthe happened to be too close to Harry for his comfort (not like the Wonderland album song ‘Too Close for Comfort’) which made him feel somewhat uneasy with her elegant presence, saying “It’ll be something to consider” as his polite way to decline her. Jacinthe isn’t the kind of person who takes no for an answer, saying, “By having you super group into my tournament, it’ll attract more publicity with fans wanting to see you all shine!”
Harry glared at Jacinthe with annoyance once her back was turned. “Please, you have to accept her offer, or else there will be consequences,” pleaded Lebanne as she fights with her Dragagle, firing its Sludge Wave at a rogue Mega Altaria. “Well, maybe if I win that tournament of hers,” said Harry with his Absol helping her out by striking its Play Rough on a rogue Mega Audino before it could attack. Just then, Jacinthe’s Mega Clefable was ganged up on by a rogue Mega Pidgeot and a rogue Mega Crabomiable, with the former trapping it with its Hurricane and the latter slamming down its Ice Hammer. “This won’t do at all!” cried Jacinthe as she fell onto the ground, having to be near those moves.
Lebanne’s meek expression suddenly changed into a more demonic look, saying, “Nobody hurts Jacinthe and gets away with it!” and Mega Evolved her Dragagle. “That’s right, show them their punishment!” exclaimed Lebanne with her Mega Dragalge firing its Sludge Wave at them. Harry was astonished yet a little scared by Lebanne’s ferocious side. Her Mega Draggle, however, had some trouble against a Rogue Mega Absol who ambushed it with its Sucker Punch. “Let’s give them a helping hand, shall we?” said Harry, who Mega Evolved his Absol into Mega Absol Z. Both Mega Absols fought fiercely by striking each other with their Knock Off, but Harry came up with an idea by telling Mega Absol Z to hide with its Phantom Force and then ambush it using Play Rough. “A more fearsome battler than me, huh?” said Lebanne, who calmed down. Jacinthe was impressed, saying, “Now that's what I call a thrilling match for the Jacinthe Zone!” “Oh, please, this is more of the Harry Zone,” muttered Harry to himself
I teamed up with Grisham and Griselle from Nouveau Cafe, but they turned out to be members of Team Flare, having been raised by them since they were children. Having to stop Team Flare before, I can tell that they had some resentment with me, especially Griselle, who aggressively said to me, “Just because we’re teaming up, don’t think I would overlook the fact that you were the one who sent Lysandre into jail, ruining our reputation!” “Griselle, it’s best to put our personal feelings aside for now and focus on the present,” said Grisham calmly.
I won’t lie that it felt awkward fighting with them, even if I understood how they must have felt. Still, we made the effort to help one another, including my Mega Alakazam using Psychic on both Rogue Mega Raichus, who attacked Griselle’s Mega Pyroar. It helped my Mega Alakazam in return, firing its Flamethrower on a Rogue Mega Chimecho that fired its Flash Cannon towards Mega Alakazam while Grisham’s Mega Charizard X took care of a Rogue Mega Charizard Y by charging into it using Outrage.
“I suppose you’re not half bad for a kid,” said Griselle begrudgingly. “I know that Team Flare was like a family to you, but I couldn’t allow Team Flare to harm our world. Still, I wanted to help Lysandre,” I said calmly. Just before Griselle was about to say something, Grisham stepped in and said, “So you think he had some good in him? I still believe that he has his reasons for using Zygarde to change our world, no matter the cost. We have to spend a great amount of time living as outcasts just because we’re from Team Flare.”
Even if we did oppose Team Flare back then, I felt sorry for Griselle and Grisham, having to know what it’s like to be an outcast with my sexuality (and being part of a race with psychic powers but I intend to keep it a secret for now). We then spotted some citizens who were about to get attacked by a Rogue Mega Staraptor that dived into them using Brave Bird and a Rogue Mega Sceptile firing its Leaf Storm. Quickly, I commanded Mega Alakazam to stop Mega Starator using Psychic while Griselle’s Mega Pyroar fired its Flamethrower at Mega Sceptile’s Leaf Storm, giving Grisham’s Mega Charizard X a chance to finish it using Flare Blitz. The citizens were able to escape to safety. I said to Grisham and Griselle, “I believe this is the step towards your redemption”. Grisham agreed with that, saying, “It seems so, like a step forward towards restoring Team Flare’s glory, which seems bright as you Kid.” “I suppose you’re right about that,” said Griselle mutually. We then helped to fight against a Rogue Mega Venusaur.
By then, the Rogue Mega Evolution was subdued, giving the McBusted boys a chance to free themselves from their Mega Energy with their song. Their smooth vocals and tunes helped to free them from Rogue Mega Evolution. The trainers we fought with were delighted with their performance, including AZ, who heard their song from the rooftop with a smile on his face. It certainly was an amazing performance from the McBusted boys, and it never ceases to amaze me how their song helps out Pokémon, as I’ve heard from their stories.
Still, the battle wasn’t over yet, with Hyperrogue Mega Floette to deal with. The McBusted boys and I made our way there with the others, looking after the wild Pokémon in case they turn rogue again.
Chapter 4 –
Savours of Lumoise
Once we got nearer to Hyperrogue Mega Floette, Taunie said to us, “Watch out! Ange is about to attack!” and saw the Red and Blue Eternal Flower, and its head that was about to attack with its shockwaves, but Zygarde in its 50% form saved us by firing its Thousand Arrows at it, much to our surprise.
“Whoa! It’s Zygarde!” said Danny. L have turned up and said “Let me aid you all saving Lumoise City” and removed his hood, revealing himself to be Lysandre, which was another surprise for us, with me saying “Lysandre!” (I did have a hunch before, but it was still surreal after all this time). “So you turned over a new leaf just in time for the 11th hour,” said Dougie. “All of you have shown me the light, and I want to atone by lending you all Zygarde’s powers,” said Lysandre, as Zygarde gathered all of its cells to become Zygarde Complete. “Long time no see,” said James as we all witnessed Zygarde Complete once again. “Yes, Lysandre, I’m glad that we can become even,” I said. Lysandre mutually nodded at us as we were ready to fight alongside Zygarde Complete. “Good luck to you all. I’ll keep Floette safe,” said Taunie.
The McBusted boys sent out their Gallade and Gardevoir and Mega Evolved them, and we used the other Pokémon that we used at the Z-A Battle Club earlier as backup (giving the Pokémon that we Mega Evolved earlier a rest). We took care of the Red and Blue Eternal Flower at the bottom while Zygarde Complete handled the top part of Hyperrogue Mega Floette.
The Red Eternal Flower fights by lashing out at any of its opponents that get too close. Mega Gallade blocks the attack with his arm blades. “Thanks for the help!” called Tom, who gave Danny’s Sawk, Tom’s Maushold, and Harry’s Throh a chance to attack the Red Eternal Flower with their Close Combat, Population Bomb and Knock Off. It then repelled Mega Gallade with a pulse of projectiles, but Dougie’s Stunfisk and my Glimmora fired their Discharge and Power Gem at the projectile to take it out. “You can’t stop us now, just like our cover song!” said Harry with Danny’s Hawlucha and Tom’s Gourgiest, dealing direct damage to The Red Eternal Flower with their Brave Bird and Power Whip.
“That’s right, we make a good team with our performance!” cheered Danny. I do agree with him, though he spoke too soon as The Red Eternal Flower unleashed its shockwaves, knocking us right back. As soon as Mega Gallade saw us getting hurt, he didn’t hesitate to strike back with his Psyblade, cutting through the Red Eternal Flower. “It definitely needs a trim!” I said with Dougie’s Torkoal and Harry’s Mismagius firing their Lava Plume and Shadow Ball at the Red Eternal Flower, dealing further damage to take it down. “It’s a shame since those flowers are beautiful,” said Dougie, joking around. With The Red Eternal Flower taken out, Zygarde Complete fired its Thousand Waves at Hyperrogue Mega Floette.
The Blue Eternal Flower fired a continuous stream of energy at a long distance, but Mega Gardevoir protected us by firing her Lumina Crash at the attack. “Thank goodness, that could have vaporized us!” said Matt as his Grimmsnarl and Charlie’s Falinks attack The Blue Eternal Flower at close range using Spirit Break and Close Combat. The Blue Eternal Flower then releases a toxic aura that surrounds the area. “We'd better not breathe it in!” warned Charlie as we all stayed back. “It certainly doesn’t want us to get to it,” said James. Mega Gardevoir helped to repel the toxic aura by firing her Hyper Voice. Our other Pokémon followed her strategy, including James’ Lumineon using Defog and Charlie’s Honchrow rapidly flapping its wings. “Alright, great thinking there!” cheered Charlie with our Pokémon attacking the Blue Eternal Flower, including James’ Lumineon firing Scald and Charlie’s Honchrow striking with Sucker Punch.
The Blue Eternal Flower then summoned an electrified terrain that kept us away. It disappeared after a while, only for the ground to get electrified again, which we narrowly avoided. “Boy, this is getting unpredictable,” said Matt with caution. I noticed that purple sparks appeared just before the terrain gets electrified. I quickly told Tatsugiri to fire its Scald at the purple spark, which prevented the ground from getting shocked. “Let’s turn off the electricity by attacking those purple sparks!” I said. “Well spotted there, Dominic!” said James with his Hatterene and Matt’s Overqwil firing their Mystical Flame and Gunk Shot at the purple sparks. This allowed Mega Gardevoir to fire her Aura Sphere at the Blue Eternal Flower, taking it down. This was then followed by Zygarde Complete firing its Thousand Arrows at Hyperrogue Mega Floette.
At one point, Hyperrogue Mega Floette was about to unleash its Light of Ruin, a powerful beam of light that would cause a large amount of damage in the surrounding area. “Quick! Go underneath Zygarde, who’ll protect you all from the damage!” called Lysandre. We all quickly ran towards the green circle underneath Zygadre Complete, but I tripped over just before I made it to the green circle, which made me exposed to Light of Ruin. “Oh no, Dominic!” cried Danny, but Palafin Hero Form grabbed me away from Light of Ruin and into the green circle just in time. The McBusted boys were relieved that I was safe with Dougie, saying, “Thank goodness, we thought you would get sizzled into a crisp”. That would be hard to imagine, Dougie, but hey, this makes Palafin a true hero.
As we continued to fight Hyperrogue Mega Floette, the McBusted boys find themselves protecting each other from the flower’s attacks, as shown when Danny dived into Tom and James before they got hit by the stream of energy, Matt dragged Dougie away from the pulse projectile, and Harry called out to Charlie to keep away from its shockwave attack. “Please be careful, you both,” said Danny to Tom and James as they lay closely on the ground, holding each other tightly. “I couldn’t let you get hurt, Dougie,” said Matt as they made direct eye contact. “Thank goodness you warned me in time,” said Charlie as he found himself holding onto Harry.
Mega Gallade, Mega Gardevoir, and I all understood their desire to protect each other with their love and bond for each other. I sensed that the flowers were about to attack the McBusted boys again with their stream of energy, so I found myself forewarning Mega Gallade and Mega Gardevoir via telepathy, so we protected them by intercepting the attack with Mega Gallade and Mega Gardevoir using their Psyblade and Lumina Crash. I discreetly helped them, too, with my telekinesis. Our moves collided with the attack, causing us to fall towards the ground. The McBusted boys grabbed us in time (with me being held by Danny). “Are you all alright?” said James. “We’re sorry to put yourselves through like that,” said Tom with concern. We put on brave smiles, with me saying, “I always fight for you all.” Our other Pokémon helped to deal damage to the flowers with Zygarde, completely attacking Hyperrogue Mega Floette with its Land’s Wrath. Lysandre noticed our bonds which gives him an epiphany that by taking away our world would destory the bonds that people and Pokémon share. He vows to protect that bond which makes the world beautiful.
With our teamwork combined, Hyperrogue Mega Floette was weakened with Zygarde Complete, delivering a powerful blow using Core Enforcer. “We did it! Take that, you tower!” cheered Dougie. However, Hyperrogue Mega Floette wasn’t down just yet, with it firing Light of Ruin towards Lumoise City, which is like a giant laser beam that threatened to destroy the whole city. “Oh no! It’s going to be the end of Lumoise City!” cried Harry as we all huddled together.
But it wasn’t over yet, as I felt the pedal in the satchel that Zygarde had given me earlier was reacting with energy. I took it out, and to my surprise, it turned into a Mega Stone for Zygarde. “Now you must use it on Zygarde!” called Lysandre. I used Zygardite on Zygarde, which Mega Evolved Zygarde Complete into Mega Zygarde. “Whoa! What a huge cannon!” said Charlie with astonishment as we witnessed Mega Zygarde firing its powerful laser beam, like move Nihil Light towards Light of Ruin and Hyperrogue Mega Floette, destroying Ange once and for all, becoming the saviour of Lumoise City.
“Well done, Zygarde!” cheered Danny. “We did it! It’s all over!” added James. Taunie and Floette, who reverted from their Mega Evolution, made their way down from the now destroyed Prism Tower. She apologized for her actions, but the main point is that they’re ok with Lumoise City saved. Meanwhile, AZ, having to watch the whole battle, smiled and rested his eyes.
The next morning, it turned out that AZ had passed away peacefully, having exhausted his 3,000-year curse, which was a shock for us. Looking back, I guessed I should have seen this coming when I heard his coughs and making jokes about aging, but nevertheless, we felt saddened having to meet him and helped to reunite with his Floette the last time we were in Lumoise City.
We, along with Team MZ, Ansha, Lysandre and Zygarde in its 10% form, paid our final respects at Dormez Bien Cemetery, where AZ was buried. “He asked me for his measurements the other day. I thought they were for his clothes, but I never would have thought it would be for his grave,” said Naveen sombrely. “Thank you for everything, AZ. We helped to save Lumoise City just for you,” said Matt emotionally, with the McBusted boys and me holding each other’s hands with comfort as if we couldn’t let go. “I know we have done AZ proud during his last moments. For now, let us live our lives to the fullest,” said Harry, comforting us, which we agreed with. Taunie said that Floette will stay with her for the time being.
I then had a word with Lysandre. “Back when I was working for the original Team Flare, I gave too much in the world and expected to be rewarded for it, only to receive little, so that’s why I decided to take everything for myself by using the Ultimate Weapon, which instead caused more pain. Either way, I have accomplished nothing. I may have used Zygarde for my selfish gains, but getting to know it has helped me to work on restoring the right balance to the world,” said Lysandre.
I said to him that it may not be easy, but I believe the best way to create a beautiful world is to work on solutions that’ll help everyone, uniting with others to achieve a common goal together. At least that’s what I hoped for. The McBusted boys agreed with me, backing me up with Danny saying, “It’s just like how music reunites people, just like this song we have found has helped out Pokémon.” “We all must create a beautiful world for people and Pokémon, including our loved ones, which makes it even more beautiful, balancing out the ugliness in this world,” said Charlie. Lysandre thanked us and made his leave, vowing to continue to make a beautiful world while atoning for his crimes. Zygarde went with him to help Lysandre gain a further understanding of Zygarde. It was good to have this kind of conversation with him which helps to build bridges rather than fight.
Afterwards, there was a ceremony to celebrate Lumoise City being saved once again and to honour AZ’s passing with the McBusted boys performing their Mega Evolution song (it was AZ who requested them to perform as written in his will). Of course, it was a spectacular performance which helped to brighten up the mood throughout Lumoise City, for which I’m sure AZ would have wanted.
To make things even more amazing, the song happened to summon Rayquaza from the Ozone Layer, descending near the McBusted boys. I can tell that it was a surreal experience for them. “Woah! It’s Rayquaza!” exclaimed Tom with excitement. “That’s one way to reunite with an old friend!” said James thrillingly. It then flew next to Ansha as if it were aware of Ansha’s desire to catch it. She was overjoyed to meet it up close, even for a brief moment. She appeared to go after Rayquaza when it flew away from her, but then she stopped.
“What’s up, Ansha? Didn’t you say you wanted to catch Rayquaza for your Mother?” asked Taunie. “I did, but then I thought after giving such a mighty Pokémon to my Mama, I would have to get more mighty Pokémon, but Rayquaza would make them a hard act to follow. But maybe meeting Rayquaza would be more than enough for me, just like a story to tell to my Mother,” said Ansha. “That sounds like a great idea, Ansha! She would love to hear those stories!” said Lida, encouraging her. “Yeah, just like when I’m excited to hear my sister’s stories,” added Naveen. I backed up their suggestion and said, “Those stories with what you have experienced would be the greatest gift that your Mother would have wanted”. Ansha seemed thrilled with the idea, saying, “I’m sure Mama would love to hear stories about what I got up to in Lumoise City!”
Afterwards, The McBusted boys and I spent some more time in Lumoise City including helping Team MZ to fulfil some requests in Lumoise City, explore the wild zones (I’ve lost the number of times we were chased by Alpha Pokémon), guest starring in Canari’s streams, trained with Ivor and the Fists of Justice (including one time when Danny hit the punching bag so hard that it smashed a wall but there was no harm done except that we all ached with laughter), took part in Jacinthe’s tournament (whenever we wanted to or not although Harry did get his own back on Jacinthe by beating her in the tournament), hanging out in cafes and restaurants (where they hosted their Pokémon battles and we came out on top), making donuts with Ansha and accompanied her drawings to her stories that she’ll tell her Mother. The McBusted boys were thrilled to be part of her stories as she drew them.
After all of this, I bid my farewell to the McBusted boys again, hoping to meet up with them again. All of this experience visiting Lumoise City once again has reminded me that life is precious and I have to be thankful for the one life I have that I get to spend with the people I’ve met. I’m sure that AZ would have thought the same way as he watches over us, being at peace.
